DH is fine, but my car, not so much. He was a part of a multi-vehicle smoosh on I-95 this morning. The young driver who rear-ended him didn't have a license, but the trooper said her parents did have very good insurance. My car however is in bad shape. He can drive it home, but the rear driver-side corner is smashed, which is where my charge port is so I won't be able to drive it very far. Not sure if it will be totaled or not. He is so upset about ruining my car, despite the fact that there was nothing he could have done. The biggest inconvenience I can see is that I won't be able to take the dog to the park. I can easily drive his truck, but I can't get the dog into the back seat and he is too stupid to realize he can easily jump up there. DH always gives him a lift assist.
eta: I did remind him that the girl who hit him was going to have a much worse day.
Ooh yeah if she didn’t have a license? That is definitely going to be a bad day for her. I hope they’re able to fix your car or total it quickly and get you a replacement, Laura!
Apparently she was using the vehicle without her parents' permission. Insurance is on the vehicle though so whatever needs to happen will be covered. I'll have to rent a car since we can't really just have one vehicle.
Yikes, sorry to hear about the crash, Laura. Thank goodness Brendon is okay.
Yeah, joyriding unlicensed teen is going to have some fun times at home.
The original accident was ahead of both of them. Brendon was able to slow down and keep from hitting the person in front of him, but wasn't able to move over enough to keep her from not hitting him. He got over a bit because he saw her coming, but she still got the corner. He feels bad that he couldn't get out of her way. Inexperienced driver so she couldn't stop in time.
While waiting for the police two more vehicles joined the smoosh.
Well, this seems promising. Pretty sure I didn't expect that to happen in my lifetime.
Oy, what a hassle, Laura.
One of my Kenyon friends got in an accident and he's had such a hard time replacing his car. He's got the means but they don't have the stock.
Matilda's Physics final is a group project (with her beau) that involves creating a new Muni bus line in San Francisco and relating all the energy/acceleration issues with economic and city planning issues. (It's a very practical Physics class, usually relating to environmental science.)
She spent 2.5 hours last night stuck on one question and couldn't make the numbers work until she realized she had mis-read that question. Which made her very grumpy rather than relieved. ("Two and a half hours of my life wasted!")
Ple will be happy to know that she made me stop on the way to school this morning to pick up two Red Bulls to power through her finals today. Less fun was seeing an EMT team doing CPR on a guy outside on the ground.
Too much excitement this morning.
That is exciting, JenP! And because I read a lot of a particular kind of SF now I am looking forward to helium filled dirigibles!
RIP Twitch. SYTYCD alum and Ellen show DJ. So sad.
Shocking and sad. So young! I really only know him from SYTYCD and occasionally stories/clips since but he always delighted
