You're talking to Serenity. And, Early... Serenity is very unhappy.

Oh I was told to wait until I get a letter from the IRS but I don't think that is going to happen .

IME it will happen but verrrrrrrrry slowly. We had a letter from the IRS in early November telling us we owed them a bunch of money (we don't, our accountant fucked up), and just this week got a follow-up letter saying "We got your letter (2 months ago) but we need some time to process it. Hey BTW did you know you can still pay us just in case you wanted to?")

Thrive to spite them

If I didn't file my taxes and was getting a refund would they send me a letter saying I hadn't filed?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sucks, askye. I'm sorry.

I have zero interest in working today.

My credit union is apparently just unavailable online today so that's fun and not at all troubling.

I don't think so. I don't think you are actually required to file if you don't owe. I'm not completely sure about that, but I am fairly certain they don't have the resources to track down and contact everyone who hasn't filed taxes. They should have a record of what you have filed, at least, though, so you should be able to confirm whether or not yo have filed 2019 if you can ever reach someone. You can try requesting a tax transcript online or by mail - [link] although I can imagine that in your situation of not being sure what your latest tax return is that might not be super simple either

All my dates look like fractions. January!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Le sigh. Like a fair number of people this is my first day back working since Christmas. And Slack, our main way of communicating now that we're all remote, has been down for hours.

Oh, my, Slack being down sounds like it would be a problem for a great many people!

Punishingly Intricate

Slack's back up for us, fwiw

Slack is awake again as of about five minutes ago. I honestly thought everyone was just being really quiet since it was most folks' first day back from vacation!

Our wings are not tired

Yeah, we've been using Slack for my little company for quite a few years now and those days when it goes out it feels like I'm partially blind or something.
