2021 is nice so far. My HORRIFYING SKIN INFECTION OF THE FACE has cleared up and no longer frightens small children. We got take-out spicy fried chicken from our favorite place, Gus’s, for New Year’s Eve, which felt quite festive. Back to school tomorrow, virtually.
Best of all, we discovered accidentally by driving by, one of my favorite stores, Cost Plus World Market, only a few miles from here. I thought they were only on the West Coast, so I never even bothered looking to see if one was nearby. Once again I can browse foods from many lands, cheap but adorable earrings, excellent kitchenware and flowy bohemian clothing.
It's wrong that I hear you got fried chicken from Gus's and immediately think of Breaking Bad, isn't it?
I’m glad the infection is better, Scrappy.

It's better than my association with Gus and New Year's Eve, -t.
I'm glad your face has healed, Scrappy.
Timelies all!

Today was a bit better of a day, starting with Mr. S sleeping until 8:30 this morning after going to sleep at his usual time. Of course, he spent most of the day on his tablet....Tomorrow school starts up again(virtually for this week at least.)
Timelies! Today has been quiet - we took down the tree, to Peanut's great dismay, and I luxuriated in the last day of M's vacation. Peanut doesn't go back to school until Tuesday, but I'll treat tomorrow like a school day anyway, just to get her back in the swing of it.

There was one in Cordova, TN until a few years ago. That's where I bought my current sofa (praying the whole drive home that I wouldn't have to brake suddenly and end up being forced through the windshield by it).
So wiped out. Church, dishes, trash, vacuuming, drinks cabinet, a bit of work on the filthy hardwood floors, and totally cleaned 3/4 of the living room windows--panes, blinds, sills (all the way around, including up top) and screens. And then the one guinea pig I wanted to cuddle darted out of my grasp and hid in a corner! All I ask of either of them is a cuddle every now and then, and I'm thwarted. Too bad for her I have just enough energy left for one last clutch--got her!
