Here is me, echoing -t again. I find planes much louder, and given my inner-ear-motion-sickness-gonna-kill me thing, the sound of the train is nothing but soothing.
I don't get sick on trains because there is no vibration, which also means I tend to sleep much better as a result.
I haven't taken a trip in a long time, so I don't know about the food now, but many years ago, it was really good. I also found the Amtrak employees much calmer, and prone to actually enjoying their jobs.
Plus, if you want fresh air, open a window!

I just bought a train ticket last night! But just to NYC.
I'm still going to do the big cross-Canada trip I had booked for March 2020, just next fall probably.
Talked to my mom about going to see the annular eclipse next year, so I feel good about that. I expect finding a place to stay to be much less fraught than a total eclipse, but might as well start planning early.

I’m thinking of visiting Montreal for my next not-family trip. I keep meaning to go to England, but Montreal seems less expensive and with less actual travel time.
I really want to go to Montreal. Some day.
