I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, I’m sorry, Epic. Good luck with the procedure and I hope the whole thing gets resolved more satisfactorily before too much longer.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Oh, Epic that sucks. Tons of ~ma headed your way.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hang in there, Epic.

Yikes, Epic! Good vibes your way that everything goes smoothly!

The surgical team can’t do the lung procedure until Friday and don’t want to send Tim home between now and then. And after the procedure he’ll probably be here until Monday.

I mean, there are worse things, but it still sucks. But it’s important to have this procedure, so that’s the plan.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry for the extended stay. I hope you are both able to get some decent rest. The procedure sounds like the best plan. One of my dear friend's son had a lung collapse in his 20s. No real reason. The doctors said some people just have more of a tendency for it. Yikes.

Oh, geez, I'm sorry Epic. I hope it goes smoothly.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Procedural vibes for Epic and Tim.

And the DkH (who is still sick)
And heath~ma to Nilly's DkH, too. (I don't know if that's a typo or if I just don't know what the k is for so I'm keeping it).

I hope the job goes well for Mac, and the change of location works out for Gud.

I haven't posted much in a while, but I've lurked and commiserated quietly. Not much new here. Just getting older and achier.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Today is my Friday and it’s only half a day and I’m working from home.

Flight out at 5:30 to Austin to stay with cousin and attend Austin City Limits Festival on Fri, Sat, and Sun. I don’t fly back until Tuesday afternoon so I have some built in chill and recover time. Am excited.

I’ve checked in for flight, activated my festival wristband and linked it with a credit card for purchases.

I still need to finish packing, do my work for the day, and go over all the things with Mac. He’s fed the dogs and given insulin already so that is good. He knows their routine. He met the neighbor who can help with the dogs and who has a key and I’m leaving him with everyone’s phone number. Should be fine.

All I want to do is listen to music of the artists who will be playing that I’ve never heard of to get my schedule figured out oh and knit. I’d love to listen to music and knit until 2:30 or do, but that is not in the cards.

Okay, so the stick-the-lung-to-your-chest-wall procedure is less of a "procedure" and more of a full-blown thoracic surgery. They don't have to crack Tim's chest open; they can go through the ribcage laparoscopically. But it's still surgery. I'm not sure how long Tim will have to be in the hospital after the surgery; hopefully only a few days. And then he has to be out of work for 2 weeks after that.

Last I heard, the surgery will be Friday. I've already juggled things around with work, and now I'm going to see if I can find a housecleaner who can come tomorrow to clean the main areas (living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom -- but not the bedroom or the horror known as the office).

I'm pretty sure I'm more freaked out than Tim is. Mostly, though, I'm super super super exhausted.
