If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

MLK was a “floating” holiday for us, ie you could take it whenever, which is frankly kind of bullshit. It’s a regular holiday now. I actually don’t know about Juneteenth. But I’m not about to make lisah’s mistake and go check.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have been reading but not commenting, and now I feel like there are too many comments. But I am celebrating NYalone, listening to different folks react to Hamilton and crying. So Happy New Year! Much ma, sympathy etc, I have really read at thought about each person’s situation. But too many to name well.

Now tagless for your comfort.

DH's company has made some great corporate decisions before and during the pandemic. They went to a $20 company-wide minimum wage, they made election day and Martin Luther King, Jr. birthdays both corporate holidays.

The people who were unable to work from home have been employed and paid, in full, indefinitely, until they can go back to the office.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

My company went to use-it-or-lose-it PTO several years ago, and if I lost a few days each year I didn't fret about it. But this Spring they announced "no overtime allowed without prior written authorization from your VP." It was a major blow to morale. I have abided by the policy very strictly and very carefully. No extra effort from me this year, and I scheduled my PTO four months in advance.

On a positive note, they have been completely supportive of me when I have needed to take a sick day for medical appointments. No hassle at all. For my part, I give as much advance notice as I can, usually at least two weeks.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I'm hoping billytea comes through to assure the rest of us that 2021 has, indeed, arrived.....

My friends, Douglas Adams once stated that there are three kinds of animal in Australia: venomous, odd and sheep. I come to you from 2021 to announce that in the new year, one no longer has to choose between them.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sorry, lisah. But knowing about Juneteenth (observed) is making me happy!

OK, I get how the sheep can become both venomous and odd, but are koalas now also sheep? Just want to be picturing this correctly.

Happy New Year from central Europe! 2021 has arrived with single malt whisky and a small amount of fireworks (there shouldn't have been any, because they were banned, but what the hell). The New Year should be with you all soon. Have a good one, Buffistas.
