Punishingly Intricate

Thanks for the update, Epic.

I’m in the ER waiting for my Dad to get admitted or let go. At least they let my Mom go sit with him in their triage area. It’s very busy here today. Wish I’d brought my book. (His blood pressure was very low this morning.)

Our wings are not tired.

Health~ma for your dad, lisah. I'm glad they let her go with him.

Thank you for the update, Epic. That sounds encouraging. I'm glad you followed up with the doctor on the fever. With reduced immunity you are better off double checking. Another step forward in your treatment plan. The ~ma continues to be sent in a steady stream.

Book club tonight. I noticed my neighbor's farm stand has butternut squash so soup is in my future, and maybe other stuff as it looked like she had a good crop. She had a bunch of pumpkins too, but I really haven't cooked from fresh pumpkins before, despite loving them in general. Going to check out some recipes though. Also, check out what else she has that I couldn't see from the road.

Good update, Epic. Don't mess about with fevers.

Stay hydrated.

Onwards!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Matilda!

Another awful night with Mr. S. We went to Gary's mom's house for Rosh Hashanah. Dinner went fine. She had arranged for a neighbor's kid to come watch Mr. S while we did virtual services. About 10 minutes in he came running upstairs and started getting aggressive. He knocked Gary's glasses off, then ran out the door. He continued to be violently aggressive to the point that 911 was called. Off to the ER we went, where he had another meltdown and had to be medicated. He ended up staying overnight, with Gary in the room with him. I drove home around 1 am. I ended up picking them up(after he had another meltdown and got more meds) around 10. He promptly took a nap. I don't know what set him off to begin with, but we obviously need a different plan for Erev Yom Kippur.

Oh Sheryl, you and Gary must be so exhausted. I do hope you can come up with a more effective plan soon for all of you.

Our wings are not tired.

I am excited. On the local Otter Lake FB group there were several pictures from various days of a MOOSE on Lakeview Road, which is the road my sister lives on and I drive every day. The pictures were all early morning and I drive to pick her up every day at 6:30 AM and drive her back around 7:45 so I have digits crossed that we will see him!! (the time we go to the gym, Mona pays the dues and I drive every day so she has more wake up time)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Moose alert! This is not a drill!

'Tis another grey day in San Francisco, and once again everybody is moving at the speed of slug. As soon as I scootch Matilda out the door I have to move the car out of the garage so they can begin working. Then I'll get my run in.

Reading: Just finished Ducks by Kate Beaton. Currently reading the first Termaire book, His Majesty's Dragon, and Ripley's Game.

Watching: Paper Girls (it's really good! I don't know why more people aren't watching it), Puppycat and Bee, Hacks, What We Do In the Shadows.

To be Watched: A League of Their Own, Reservation Dogs, about eighty other things. Oh, I have been taking advantage of my Criterion Channel and watched Godard's "Masculin / Feminin" and Original Cast Album (the Sondheim doc by Pennebaker).

Ooooh, a moose! When I drove the Lake Superior north shore in 2007 I saw moose warning signs all over the place, but never a moose. I hope you see him (from a safe distance)!

Thanks for the update, Epic.

Thrive to spite them

I heard from the lawyer. The hearing and deposition are canceled. Workers comp has agreed to pay for the ER visit they originally refused and they are sending the information they used to determine the full payments so the lawyer can determine if they were fair. I have to email my pay stubs to the lawyer sinfe i started back to work. Also i am on a cancelation list for the neuro opthomlogist but that appointment is still Dec 6.

That's also the next dr I'll see. I'm not clear why I am not going to see a different neurologist, the call was speaker phone and I hate having to focus with those. But I'm going to ask for clarification in an email. According to the lawyer I'll keep working 12 hours/week until I see the neuro opthomlogist.

I had another weird memory thing the other day. Minor really but a situation where I had to really think about information I should have known and then took me a bit to totally process it.

No settlement info because they can't do that until after the neuro opthomlogist visit at the very earliest.

Progress and I don't have to go to a hearing which I guess makes sense that they would figure this all out before it got to that point

Thrive to spite them

I realized I'm kind of in a panic over only working 12 hours a week and I feel like I need to figure out a way to be able to work more hours because if I don't then...something bad will happen....except I could look at it as-- wow I can work part time for the rest of this year and working part time is something I never thought would be possible.

I mean, I'm slightly worried it will be Dec 6th and I'll hear I have to see another doctor to get cleared to go back to work but that is different than feeling like I'm doing something wrong by only being cleared to work 12 hours
