Thrive to spite them

I hope dogs and Husbands heal from pancretitis quickly.

The sale of Mom's house fell through and she had foundation issues that led to mold and mold remediation and it's just become a thing where she's now trying to figure out how much more money she needs to pour into the town house before she can sell it.

I'm dreading work tomorrow, we have some really big corporate visit. I only know it's big because 1)we have all been reminded to follow the dress code and especially dress nice. 2) there were ppl here from other stores working to get things set up for Xmas etc. Everyone gets stressed out when this happens.

Oh Great British Bake Off is streaming on Roku Channel (therokuchannel.roku.com) it's the first 7 seasons-with Mary Berry and Sue and Mel!

Thankfully it didn't develop into chronic pancreatitis

Thank goodness not, yes.

Good luck with the construction stuff, Hec et al., and health ~ma and after-effects ~ma all around.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Other than that the road trips sound delightful.
It really was.

Except for the parts of the time I expected to be leisurely were not due to a squirrel throwing a green (thus heavy, so heavy) pine cone threw my rear windscreen and shattering it*. Getting glass replaced by next day because you are leaving the state is hard and thankfully my sister knows everyone in the Lake Tahoe area.

* I have photos. Of the pine cone. And glass. Not the sqirrel. He got away.

Cat poop
And I'm not 100% sure it actually is
I'm not sure, not sending a sample to find out, and not getting a cat for the sample in the first place. But it is the grossest snack they love.

Shelby ate the not-quite-as-low-fat-but-totally-within-the-guidelines both now and for the future which is one more weight off of my back and brain. We have, for now, a winner. Going to go buy some more.

Fingers crossed for all pancreatitis or covid sufferers. I have a mammogram today, but normally that’s just more tedious than anything else.

Work is v busy.

Also re GBBO—the new season starts there tonight I think, and it starts streaming weekly on Netflix this Friday!!

Oooh, I've never seen the first couple seasons! And our upstairs TV is now fixed.

They found more rot than expected on one side of the garage so they will have to tear more out. You let water leak for several years and that's what you get, apparently.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

At this point it feels like 90% of all home maintenance is dealing with water that got wher

Or bats! I just had to have the cabin all resealed to oust a family of bats who took up residence this spring. (They’re protected so there’s an eviction moratorium until September.)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Ugh. Mr. S woke up with a sore throat. No fever, and the COVID test was negative, so he went to school. Was still feeling poorly and went home early. Got him into the pediatrician's office where they determined it was a cold. Gave him a strep test, and that was negative. Unfortunately while we were waiting for the results, he had a meltdown. He had his tablet, but kept throwing it on the floor, to the point that it cracked in half. When I wouldn't give it back to him he started spitting at me and generally being aggressive. A nurse helped get him out to the car, but he wouldn't calm down. I ended up calling Gary and he and a different nurse got him calmed down by offering small bouncy balls.

And to top it all off, Gary leaves tomorrow afternoon for a business trip, and gets back Sunday evening. Sigh...

Sheryl, that is so much for you to deal with and I wish there were something we could do in support.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

{{{Sheryl}}}

Emailed my dr re: Tdap and got a referral for a booster, which is now scheduled for next Wednesday. So I can get my flu shot tomorrow with my Covid booster, or next Wednesday with the Tdap, or wait another week and get it at work. Oh, wait, no, I’ll be on vacation then. Tomorrow still seems like the best plan.

{{{Sheryl}}} I'm so sorry.
