I just scheduled my booster for next week! Crossing my fingers it doesn’t hit too hard.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Happy birthday, flea! I hope it was a good one.

I ended up going to the gym tonight, but it was so warm all day, and kind of crowded, and we didn't climb very hard. But at least we went, so go us.

Ginger simple syrup is quite lovely; I might have to make some more soon. I did make my fruitcakes this weekend, and now I have to buy some more (cheap) brandy to dose it with over the next few months.

Our wings are not tired

I’m going to schedule my booster for next week most likely. Let’s hear it for #5..

ION I’m sitting in the Alaska Lounge in Seattle for a few hours. I did get a nice surprise that a friend from undergrad was two gates away when I landed so I was able to run over to give her a hug and say Hello before she boarded her flight to Hawaii. I love unexpected airport encounters.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

[looks southeast, waves in ND's general direction]

Appointments here for the bivalent booster were taken within 20 minutes of being opened to the public. My local clinic is as much use as a chocolate firescreen when it comes to providing vaccines, so I'll try the Safeway pharmacy/keep refreshing the page.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I didn't realize I was eligible for another shot but since y'all mentioned it I went and checked and scheduled for next week. I have to actually see my doctor to get my Tdap booster, can't just schedule it, which seems odd. Should be time for a flu shot soon, too, I imagine.

Aw, how fun to run into someone at the airport, Noise!

Today's high is supposed to be only 103 and it's very pleasant right now far below that, so I'm enjoying that while it lasts.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hang in there, California.

Oh yeah, I'm getting a covid shot and a flu shot tomorrow. I haven't had any real issues with the previous ones, but maybe I'll plan to WFH Friday just to be on the safe side.

meara - Sep 07, 2022 10:06:51 am PDT #17383 of 30000

I don’t think I knew the flu shots were out yet! Well, I can get one some other time I guess.

I don’t wanna work today. Just had a very frustrating meeting with someone who I am not supposed to be managing, he’s in a different department on my project, but his manager is MIA and his work affects mine, and it’s so annoying. (Especially as there is a language barrier and huge time zone differences)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My friend had gotten the same combo last weekend and CVS offered, so I figured why not.

I scheduled myself for flu and Covid booster today at 2:30p -- I have a conference in Florida from the 20th-25th, so I want to give them both a chance to kick in!

I'm not too swamped tomorrow or Friday, so I can take it easy if needed. So far all I've needed is, like, a half day to sleep off the effects, so I'm hoping for same.

I 100% am not feeling the work vibe today, but it kind of helps that a portion of my income is now of the "do it or don't get paid" variety. Good incentive, that.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

dcp video open in another tab for later. BTW, thanks, dcp, for reaching out and being supportive. I, as per usual, am existing mostly in my own head, so I realize I never really responded, but I wanted you to know I do appreciate it!

Love the story of meara's dream. You know it was a dream because if msbelle did feel the need to kill a man (he totally deserved it!), she would have already had disposal plans and alibis in place. (Not that I am calling you homicidal, my very dear friend, I just have that much respect for your organizational skills!)

I only got my Covid booster #2 last month. Had to postpone my shingles vaccine. I'll have to check with the oncologist about their position on flu vaccines in combo with radiation & chemo.

Spotted in dcp's previous taglines: "Just because someone carries it well doesn't mean it isn't heavy." That's a good one.

Sunday was the celebration of life for my nephew. Went as well as can be expected. Weather was so gross. We released butterflies at the end, which was nice. My aunt came in from Michigan, so I drove back up on Monday to spend some time with everyone. Love her to death, but she seems to have no filters when she speaks sometimes. My cousin (nephew's mom) texted me about it after I came home. I was worried that Aunt S might have hurt her feelings with one or two slightly thoughtless things she said, but I wasn't going to bring it up. Turns out Cousin L brought it up because she was worried that Aunt S had hurt *my* feelings. So, glad my cousin continues to support me, even when she's in the middle of the hardest situation ever. Used my 1 day of Bereavement to do nothing but recover yesterday. I'm thankful I did because the weekend really took a lot out of me. As side effects go, I'm pretty sure exhaustion is one of the easiest to deal with, but it is the real deal, I tell you what.
