Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.

Good morning and happy birthday to flea! I hope that the year to come is filled with new adventures, joy, and laughter. Some tasty treats today would be cool too.
playing music too loudly so that all of my neighborhood may benefit from my tasteful selections whether they want it or not.
The construction workers play their music loud, which understandable considering outside with construction noise. When the whole family is there it usually is classic rock which is fine for my working background noise, but if one of them comes by himself he tends toward the heavy metal which isn't my favorite. Hey, if it helps him keep swinging his hammer I'm down.
We baked cupcakes yesterday because it poured all day, and none of us felt like doing anything else. It's still pouring. I'm grateful that I don't actually have to leave the car to drop her off at school, but I'd like it to stop so that I can go vote, which does require me to leave my car.
Rainy here too. I did not check the basement, but I am sure there are a few wet spots. I warned Mac it would happen.
Mac joined me on two dog walks yesterday and we had dinner together. The rest of the time he has stayed in the basement and seems content.
My co-worker has nervous stressed out energy this morning. This feels like karmic payback for how I was all last week, so I’m trying to balance her energy out with some fake it til you make it zen.
I’m back from Scotland reluctantly! Thanks for bday wishes!
Glad Mac is settled in Baltimore and that I knew that he got here safely before I knew he was on his way.
Timelies, all, and a happy birthday to our flea. May there be all the things you like, and none of the things you don't.
Today is also Ken's birthday. Jim and I gave him his gifts (grundles of books) yesterday; this morning he has taken himself off for a run and will go out with friends later today.

That sounds mighty fine!
Welcome back, lisah! I enjoyed seeing pictures of your trip.
Happy birthday, flea!
Happy flea day!
As foretold, I spent the long weekend lying in front of my fan moving as little as possible, which worked pretty well for getting me through the heat and allowed me to do a lot of reading with minimal should-be-doing-stuff guilt. The heat continues for a couple more days, but today, at least, I am in the office which has air conditioning so I am enjoying that

Oh, wow. Yes.
I will note that I actually have pomegranate molasses in the house and all the other necessary ingredients, so I will be making an elixir later.
JZ and I are plotting to relocate the pigs to a big cardboard box with hay and trot it down to the garden apartment which is cooler, as it is getting Too Fucking Hot in San Francisco for furry creatures.
I just stepped out to pick up lunch and just the seconds that I was actually outside between the buildings and the car (my car stayed relatively cool parked in the shade all morning) I determined that it remains Way Too Hot
And yet, hot and sour soup sounded really good for lunch. Haven't broken into it yet to confirm.
Eta: have tried the soup and it is good, although if I wasn't in air conditioning I might not be as pleased to eat it
