I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds like a pretty good arrangement for an adult child coming home to regroup

A butter tasting sounds fun! I have splurged on expensive fancy butter from grass-fed cows that lived in spa like luxury or something on occasion, out of curiosity, and it really did taste pretty amazingly good. And hooray tiny jams!

It’s opened but not finished, Calli? How unusual for B&J!

The plan is to buy various butters fancy and not (gotta decide if I include the ridiculous $12 a pound goat butter from the co-op??) including one my friend has to special order from her local CSA, and then do a blind tasting, for her birthday. But we didn’t manage to order the CSA one in time (we were camping without cell reception) so it’s delayed until next week.

Tiny jam of the day (spoiler for the advent calendar?) was rhubarb strawberry spread

I ate it on a crumpet and it was tasty.

But I swear lately every time I eat anything (but especially in the morning?) my stomach hurts (like, stomach cramps feeling?). Usually it passes after a little bit and sometimes it’s fine but….wtf body.

It really does.

Yes. I've opened it a few times since I bought it, eaten a few spoonfulls of ice cream, enjoyed the heck out of them, and then just . . . put it back? In the freezer? Apparently that's a thing one can do. Who knew?

That sounds unpleasant. I hope you can get it resolved soon.

Ugh on the stomach hurting, meara. That doesn't sound good. Eating is not supposed to be painful.

The jam spoiler, otoh, does sound good.

Possibly a sign of the end times, Calli? Not hardly a surprise at this point, if it is.

Our wings are not tired.

The jam sounds super tasty. The most extravagant I get with butter is to buy it locally here from the Amish stands. Tasty and comes in blocks that fit well in my butter crock (since I can leave it out up in NY).

That sounds like an excellent solution, msbelle.

Should I call a doctor or a priest? 54 seems a little late to be developing restraint.

I'm concerned. You might need an intervention.

Work yesterday and today is a horrific mess with technical issues taking away ePrescribing functionality. DH stayed up until 4 this morning getting things to where the prescriptions are transmitting to the pharmacies, but the medication lists aren't updating to show it happened, but I can do reports to see what happened. After they figure out what is keeping things from synchronizing and instead throwing up errors to click away, then we can re-sync it all. tl;dr working for a living sucks

Construction at camp is progressing. They tore the walls off the front this morning and we ordered the windows. Sometime soon the new front will be completed and they will tear out the middle wall expanding my living room. I am going to have to work elsewhere when they do that. Maybe upstairs, maybe at my sister's or nephew's house. It will be way too noisy in here. Bad enough now with the back porch being built and the front being torn apart.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Motherfucker! I'm sitting in my office, listening to the window guys work on the tenants floor below me.

Power saws all morning, pounding, pounding and just now CRASH!

$1,600 pane of glass! It's not like they can get another one easily. Those fuckin' apes.

Yikes, David!!! That is awful. The time factor even worse than the $ part.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I just talked to them. It didn't even fall that far--they had the pane propped up against a wall in the side alley so they could plane down the wooden frame to get it to fit exactly into the windowsill grooves, and the glass just fell out of the frame and smashed on the ground.

I'm honestly kind of amazed that they've only lost one single pane.
