Our wings are not tired.

Many of my neighbors have golf carts and they are the thing to drive in town in Florida. I just refer to my car as a overly powerful and fast golf cart.

Accurate tho, right!? Ha!

It does pin down a moment in time.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Back to work today. Of course, my supervisor is out. Still, it wasn't as bad as some Wednesdays we've had.

Gary and I were chosen at random for COVID testing when we crossed into Canada Friday.(It ended up being a complicated thing to get the test submitted.) Got the results today, which seems a bit inefficient. Oh well...(it was negative)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I drove the beer golf cart when Heart did our annual golf tourney (for Heart). Man, I've never been so welcomely received!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, these golf cart stories are great! I had no idea.

I ended up getting the peach based seasonal cocktail followed by a flight of sangrias (that I expected to be sample sized but were not) and then that glass of wine because my judgment was all shot to hell by then anyway. All pretty tasty although I am not used to sangria including vodka or rum or whatever. Anyway, lying down now.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I did that when I worked at the snack bar at the country club -- we'd take turns driving the beer golf cart, and those golfers were always so damn happy to see us.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I ended up getting the peach based seasonal cocktail

I also had a seasonal peach based cocktail tonight!

Today was Matilda's first day of school which let's out at 1:30 on Wednesdays. I called at 3:30 to see where she was: "I'm cleaning our Mr. Sunada's desk! I'm busy right now."

Mr. Sunada is (a) one of her favorite teachers; (b) a PE teacher; (c) not one of her teachers this year.

I think she's happy to be back amongst her school people.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Well, the semester hasn't even started yet, and one of my colleagues already has Covid, so this seems like it's going to go great. I am so not ready for this semester to begin.

Our wings are not tired.

The Covid instances among the vaccinated is very concerning. My step-dad got it July 1st and it took 5 weeks before he tested negative! He's feeling better, just frail. Doctor says long Covid. Yes, he was vaccinated. But elderly with heart issues.

Sounds like an excellent way to start vaca, -t. Hope you hydrated when you got home!!

Ha! The beer golf carts are making me laugh.

Peach based cocktails and sangria tales are making me thirsty, but it's a little early yet. I guess.

Glad Matilda is back in the groove on day one!

Second day I've slept through my phone alarm, so I guess I need to change the song. Woke DH up but not me. Oops.

Huh. It looked like the dude who lives diagonally in the back yard view just waved from his deck, but I'm inside and sort of always assume no one can see in. Maybe I need to rethink that... for purposes of decency.

Anyway, good Thursday to you all.

So far so good. Did my run this morning. Making JZ's lunch (crabcake and salad).

And the daughter of my best friends, Alison, is in town and I get to see her on Saturday! I'm super excited to see Claudia because she's very smart and cool and I intend to spoil her rotten.

For the record, we have renamed Gimlet as Ringo. Because he's got bangs like Ringo.

Also, I've got three packages to mail today so that'll be fun.
