Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I took Friday off to use up some vacation (expires at the end of this month) so I've had a leisurely 3-day weekend, mostly reading. It is far too warm to tackle any of the home projects on my list. And yet, the cats still want lap time. There were some sprinkles earlier but I think that just increased the humidity.
edit: I just checked the temp and it has cooled off outside. It's 81° out there, but it's still 84° in my apartment.
Well, that's no fun, ND. If it helps, I, too have to work tonight, but it's not the fault of the weather or the client. This one's on me. (I know... it doesn't actually help.)
But fun weekend, so it was worth it.
I'm sorry it was not a good night, Sheryl.
Thumbs-up for three day weekends, aurelia. I'm a fan
OK, here I go... working.
Yeah, I'm getting too old for full overnight shifts, but this is a good client, and the business is busy so I made the most sense for coming out and taking care of this one while the rest of the team keeps other things moving. I gotta keep my frequent flier status up somehow.
It’s definitely cooler than it was aurelia, but that’s not saying a lot. ,
I got up early this morning to go see the Obama Portraits at the de Young Museum before the exhibit leaves. There were busloads of unmasked tourists who showed up at the same time as I did, which wasn't great. Also it's been 80% humidity and I was soaked with sweat, so I didn't actually spend that much time at the museum. I can go back whenever, so at least I got to see some art, get in a walk, and buy a fancy teacup.
and buy a fancy teacup.
That's what it's all about, really.
I really dig the teacup!
I hope everyone has better days and cooler weather.
Yikes ND, that sounds exhausting!
I was supposed to go to a craft fair this morning but my friend canceled yesterday. Turned out for the best though because I had a headache this morning! Managed to make it to the soccer game but we lost, sadly.
Made some progress on my project. Going in for a bowl of Cheerios now. I'll put in one more hour tonight, I think...
Hope you're making good progress, ND.
so I've had a leisurely 3-day weekend, mostly reading
Sounds perfect.
Yeah, I'm getting too old for full overnight shifts
It used to be an all too often event in our business life, but fortunately a rare one now. Maybe once or twice a year we will pull an all-nighter, and laugh about it for the flashback to the old days factor. I do hope that they become increasingly rare for you too, ND.
Ah, Monday. Up at 5:30, coffee made, animals attended, in workout gear, I'll be out the door at 6:25 to run to gym, then back home and at the computer for morning madness before 8. DH spent yesterday playing with his sister and will be headed this way this morning. Really looking forward to his arrival later. Went to BJ's for a massive curbside pickup order in prep for his arrival. Have I mentioned repeatedly how much I love all the curbside pickup and delivery options? As a lifelong shopping hater this is a wonderful new world. Don't like the impetus that made it happen, but it is awesomesauce.
