Thanks, 2020. Love wondering if I can't smell and taste things because of covid or just because my entire face is congested. Pretty sure it's the congestion.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yikes Dana. Good luck.
I felt like I was doing so well, hadn’t had hardly any migraines but now I’ve had like three in the past week. Mild, which is good, but I feel like it’s seasonal and they’ll just keep being terrible for the next couple months. Not sure why—light? Vitamin D? Something I’m allergic to? Ugh. Good news is my doc put more on my rx when I needed it refilled last time. Not sure if she meant to or not but my insurance approved it, so I at least don’t have to worry about running out (though I also don’t want rebounds, but this way I can have a pill stashed in a few different places, or take two if needed, which I’m allowed to do).
I have a soda stream. I think it’s great except remembering to get mew canisters is a pain. And eventually the bottles get kind of gross, but you can buy new ones.
Dana, I'm hoping it is just the congestion.
Interesting article about the BioNTech/Pfizer SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, "also known as BNT162b2, also known as Tozinameran also known as Comirnaty."
The first thing I did this morning was to find something in the fridge to test my nose. (Sour cream.)
And?
No gifts this year (we bought a chest freezer instead). However festivity abounded as we did our usual Xmas Movie day virtually. We added zoom meeting between movies and were not really expecting anyone but family to show up, but quite a few friends joined in. it was delightful to see our NYC friends chatting with our LA and Detroit friends and everyone digging each other. We watched WW84, The Bee Gees documentary and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. All in all, a lovely day.
Timelies all!
Quiet Sunday here. Gary has taken Mr. S to a nearby state(?) park to play. I have done a little cleaning here, with more to be done later.
Quiet here, too. Zoomed with my sister and niece and their spouse and spouse-like people this morning; they are doing their Christmas today. Then DP and I played cribbage, which is new to me. Fun.
Now we're going to watch an ep or two of Counterpart.
Usually when I take Matilda to Japantown, it's on a weekday afternoon and it's pretty dead and we can zip in and out of places even with Covid restrictions.
But on the Sunday after Xmas in the middle of school vacation, it was hopping. Good for the stores, but less good for us zipping. Still, we waited in line and got into the bookstore and she procured her necessary manga, and I got a couple orders of curry in a hurry to sustain our favorite restaurant and we bought a Naruto themed shirt for her friend.
A good outing. Good to get out of the apartment for a little bit. Typically over this part of break we'd be going to see movies with her friends. I hope by next xmas that can be a thing again.
