Our wings are not tired.

That's pretty nervy of your SiL!

She's planning on doing it herself and hopes to bring me along. She really isn't in the least bit pushy or nervy in this, just girl talky.

Oh, OK, then. That's different. Indignation withdrawn.

I really made out in the in-law department. They are all delightful and my SILs are as close as my sisters.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yay, Kansas!

my gym seems to think only retired people take them because they are scheduled during my work day!

This was a problem for me and most of the classes I wanted to take at the Y. Bad knees aren't just for retired people. It's part of why I simply bought a cheap exercise bike and quit my gym membership.

Just to throw my two cents in about elective surgery - I had a hip replacement a year ago and ended up with a MRSA infection and 6 weeks in the hospital for IV antibiotics and diabetes management. Do be careful. My hip was pretty painful before surgery, so only sorta elective, and the MRSA treatment was not aggressively bad or painful, but 6 weeks in one room with crappy TV and nothing to do but feel sorry for myself is not something I recommend. And jeez louise, the post-surgery bills and paperwork.

Coding and Sleeping

I was really surprised at how hard the Kansas amendment went down. I saw so many "vote yes" signs and I don't recall ever seeing a "vote no" sign.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'd like to think the postcards I sent made the difference.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am cynically wondering if the confusing wording and messaging confused the "wrong" voters.

I have checked off everything on the to do list I made yesterday for today except making a phone call. I am putting that off because (a) phone call and (b) the person who asked me to call him should be on a call with someone else right now so I feel pretty justified but I will have to do it at some point. Why can't we just email, my dude?

And phone call accomplished. I asked him to call me, that was somehow easier.
