Is now a good time to mention it was in the 40s when I got up this morning, and is currently 68, probably the high for the day? This is why I leave Florida in the summer. I turn on the space heater this morning and heated the seat in my car when I drove to the gym!
eta: Dana is going to unfriend me, I just know it
Further note: When it's 100 degrees outside, it's really easy to overheat quickly.
Yeah, when it was nearly 100 here on Sunday, I went out to play with my band, carrying a bottle of water. I also bought an iced drink on the way. I basically finished the iced drink before I was done with the 15-minute walk, and finished my water half-way through the session! Luckily, other people had brought water to share, so I did make it home alive. (Do we have any other brass players here? Nothing came out of my spit valve the whole time!!)
Whoa, nothing coming out of the spit valve is scary!
I was kind of under-hydrated all weekend. I chose not to bring an empty water bottle with me to the airport because I was afraid of it getting taken from me at security )a groundless fear, I now know) and then there was no place open where I could buy water once I was inside, but I got something to drink at every opportunity on the plane and went and bought a bottle of seltzer once I got to the city (I also decided to travel with no toiletries which I still think was a good idea, so I needed to get a toothbrush and so forth anyway) but after I drank that I forgot to carry it around with me when I was out and about, but I just took every opportunity to buy drinks which seemed to work out okay. I deliberately did not try to find out what the temperature was and stayed in the shade as much as I could and there generally seemed to be a breeze, which was great. I did remember to bring it to the airport coming home, but JFK does not seem to have those filling stations anywhere so I had to fill it it a drinking fountain like a barbarian. But I do know how to do that. And once i got home my dad gave me a refillable insulated water bottle that can become my official potential sacrifice to TSA for the future.
That sounds like the right strategy, tbh. I hate carrying around a heavier water bottle.
I'm generally in the habit of carrying a water bottle everywhere I go. Not having one is unsettling. But apparently fine!
I do love that those water fountain filling stations are more and more common!
I ran out to buy a snack (mango mochi!) and more importantly, lotto tickets. $800 million tonight, trying to think lucky thoughts!
meara, if you win, you have to buy Buffista Island. Promise?
Hydration is key, yes.
My body now tells me when I'm dehydrated through painful leg cramps in bed. Well, I mean, I pay attention to it, so I guess it's not a bad strategy. Better than telling by having me pass out or something.
I'm eating low fat these days to help my mini-testine and additional plumbing manage food and it's aftermath better. It's working quite well, actually, which is great!
But, god, I miss you in large quantities, butter. You are so delicious.
Cooler here today than the last two days, but apparently we're getting more soon.
