Aw, I like my coyote neighbors, but they keep a decent distance from the houses most of the time.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Oh, I forgot to report that I went shopping after work last night at Home Depot, Ross, and Marshalls, which tells you a lot about my lifestyle, but what makes it a story is that Ross gives "seniors" (defined as anyone over 55) a 10% discount on Tuesdays, which I noticed on my way in and somewhat sadly calculated that I have a couple years to go. As I'm checking out my cashier asked me if I qualified for the discount and I said no, not quite but when I grabbed my bags I didn't pick up my receipt so she chased me down with it at the exit and whispered as she handed it to me "I gave it to you anyway"
I'm not sure how to feel about it. Mostly amused.
I am having a rather uneventful summer. no trips so far and it looks likes we might not go anywhere. I am almost done sanding our huge, decrepit deck. I am using a hand sander and it’s taken a couple of weeks. next, staining it and standing around feeling inordinately proud of myself.
I was just diagnosed with severe osteoporosis, which makes me feel very old and, frankly, annoyed. Nothing to do for it but take calcium, meds and long walks. My 66th birthday is in a couple of weeks, so I should not be surprised, but I DO NOT CARE FOR IT.
Oh, I'm sorry about that, Scrappy. Hand sanding a huge deck sounds pretty exciting, though!
It is! And in my disgruntlement about the osteo, I forgot to mention that my BFF from California is coming on Monday to visit for a week!!!
Oh, fun!

Yeah, Andy has a lot of animals, chickens, hogs, peacocks, ostriches, deer, and who knows what else up there. I'm sure it was a serious issue for them.
Boo on the osteo, but I do hear that walking helps the bones think they need to strength up. Yay on the BFF distraction!
Yay visits but boo osteoporosis!
Laura it is 82 here today (sans air con) but cool in the shade since it’s not humid.
I have been working v hard lately so basically did three hours of work today and then accomplished very very little.
wow a deck with a hand sander is something to be very proud of. GO YOU!
Laura - I hope the new place is good for you all, even short term. Sorry about the loss.
the heat is brutal for so many. it was hot here today, but it's always hot in July.
I just paid a bunch of bills, put aside $$ for mac's upcoming rent (he has one more month before I move him if he cannot cover it) and it depressed me and so of course I want to go online and buy things. WTF BRAIN! NOT HELPFUL.
I should do something useful like clean or cook, but WHINEEEE I don't wanna. maybe I'll just shower and go to bed. I can't spend money or eat my feelings if I am asleep, right?
I have just gone to bed for similar reasons many times, msbelle, and I don't see a problem with it.
