Today I went with greek salad instead of the free ice cream available to me. It is too hot to wait in line!
I made JZ a greek salad for lunch yesterday, augmented with leftovers from the Greek restaurant we went to over the weekend, so Tiropita (baked filo triangles with cheese inside) and some fancy Greek dips (one Feta & Cream cheese, and one made with fish roe that was basically a little umami bomb).
Taramasalata?? That's my fave.
I went with a BBQ sampler plate with pasta salad and coleslaw because the a/c is still wonky here and cold sides sounded good. I'll need to do a dedicated survey of nearby burritos at some point.
I love Pacific Rim. It's one of my comfort movies.

Ooh, my sampler appears to include a pulled pork taco. Score!

Still running on empty here. Son worked for me Friday, didn't do anything all weekend, didn't even read. Got up at my usual very early yesterday and by 11:15 called DH and had him take over my work so I could take a nap. Stayed in bed until 6 because I didn't want to not be able to sleep at night. Went back to bed at 9:15, and nothing, all night long. Today I refuse to nap because I have to get back to a normal schedule. So I will not go to bed until at least 9, and then read until I fall out. I did finish a book last night in between trying to fall asleep.
Did my dishes today. Woot! Major accomplishment! And plan to make zucchini pizza boats for dinner for me and my sister. I'm so used to cooking all the time but heating up canned soup in the microwave was about the extent of it for a few days. I managed avocado toast yesterday and today and it was so damn good.
Being sick just really sucks. Grateful I haven't had to do it often.
Scully remains a snuggle kitty, with occasional meows at the window which break my heart.
Also, now I want a pulled pork taco, but that isn't happening. I did hear they opened a taco kinda place in a town about 25 miles north of here, so maybe soon.

Today we are cancelling the apocalypse!" Idris Elba is one of the few actors who could have pulled off that line with a straight face.
