Look at you go, -t! Yoga, gym, bicycling! I am very impressed with your healthy-making plans.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Jesus, Hec. Unbelievably horrific.
-t, I am impressed by your scoping skills.
My weekend plans are to put together the deck umbrella and to see some people at some point for something... which is exactly how far along those plans have gotten.
Maybe drinks and food under the umbrella?
That's a whole lot to live with, Hec.
I am heading to San Diego because my uncle's new wife had a heart attack two weeks ago while scuba diving sixty feet down in Mexico. The Mexico is why there has been a two week delay. It takes a while to get the body released. She did not survive.
I only met her once and it wasn't even at their wedding but my cousin's a month after theirs in May. And now her celebration of life. She liked my shoes and was mad that my uncle's ex-wife was at my cousin's wedding. Like she didn't birth and raise the kid. I like to think that would have been a funny story in a couple decades.
So basically this is Cass gets to see her uncles but the same one who was super emotional (happy) last time will be super emotional (disraught) this time.
She did not survive.
Oy! I'm sorry, Cass. That's gotta be horrible emotional whiplash for your Uncle.
Oh, Cass, I'm so sorry. Your poor uncle.
Hec, please to note that I am much better at making the healthy plans than actually carrying them out! Orders of magnitude. But sometimes I do follow through.
Umbrella-warming drinks and nibbles on the patio sounds delightful, JenP!
It's amazing what we learn years after the fact, and how that affects our memories of childhood events. I mean, you know horrific stuff happens in the world, generally. But putting it together into "horrific thing happened to a family member and that impacted my childhood in very specific ways" is a whole different situation.

Exactly.
You know, I was just thinking that this has been a really long week and realized that I had forgotten Monday was a holiday. That seems like way longer ago.
Well. My supervisor and one of my teammates will be working from home next week so there will just be two us in the (new) office. The week after that, the one who is in the office with me this coming week will be out sick for our in office days, and then she's quitting. So it'll be just me on Tuesday, but my supervisor will be in on Thursday so then I'll have company for a couple of weeks but then the two of us will both be on vacation and C will be in the office by herself for a few days. I sure hope they decide what our jobs are supposed to be soon. We are still in "just keep doing what you've been doing while we iron out the details" mode since April.
Aw, national treasure Alexandra Petri's daughter has my birthday. I am unreasonably pleased about this.
