I'm so sorry, Zmayhems. It's so hard.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have a headache from crying.
Matilda has gone to earth in the garden apartment, probably back in bed and sorrowful. She always called Marcie, "My love." It was Marcie she picked originally and Prubs, the runt got scooped up after.
When Matilda held Marcie she liked to run up Matilda's shoulder and hide her face under Matilda's hair.
Guinea Pigs are weird. They're so dumb, but they still have such distinct personalities. Prubs is much more social, and came to the front of the cage eagerly to eat from your hand. Marcie was very grumpy about being picked up and chuddered with annoyance any time her butt got touched.
But Marcie was the one I'd hold on my shoulder in my old nerdhole, with the back door open. Marcie would lift her nose to the breeze and seemed rapt with the smells of the outside world. Prubs had no such interest.
And Marcie was a rare Guinea Pig who chirped and sang. I caught it on video a few times. Very pretty like birdsong. I think she sang out of longing for a mate that would never come. She was a very pretty pig, fat and glossy. Genuinely rather elegant (despite one eye that was slightly cocked and always looked alarmed).
She was a fussy, grumpy, elegant pig who sang with longing and yearned for the world. And she felt safe hidden under Matilda's hair.
I found a shovel in the back yard and found a corner I could dig up. JZ found a pretty bit of fabric to wrap her in. We'll place a flat rock over her grave and paint her name on it.
That is a sweet eulogy.
I'm so sorry, David.
So sorry, Zmayhems. As said above, it is so difficult to lose a pet.
I knew she was in bad shape when I was stroking her nose to rump and she didn't chutter at me when I touched her back end. Poor lovely grouchy little lady. It just happened so fast.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry about Marcie.
Gary's stepmom died. She had been sick for a while, but it's still sad. She was a nice person.
I’m sorry to hear that, Sheryl
Oh, Sheryl, I'm so sorry. All possible comfort to you and Gary and everyone who loved her.
Good morning, Buffistae, and welcome to July 6th.
Matilda's room has been painted (and the popcorn scraped off the ceiling and the plaster repaired), and her furniture has been returned. Today the Wallpaper Lady comes to do the accent wall, and then that project will be done, except for all the ceiling hooks Matilda plans to put in.
Then Matilda will rejoin us from the garden apartment where I think she's been enjoying her privacy and turning up the heat in the bedroom.
Emmett & EM are almost done with their complete makeover of our old apartment. Kalena is excited to do the painting when she gets back from camp. Emmett's headed up on Saturday and he'll be gone for two weeks.
The only thing we have left to do there is reclaim one large bookcase which will go to live in the attic.
