Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Hec, I have run out of walls.
Yeah, that's where we were in our previous apartment. Now realizing that we were out of walls by a factor of 4 or 5.
I just took advantage of Best Buy's 4th sale to buy two new fancy bigass TVs for the new house, and we're getting the deluxe Installation/Wall Mounting/Polish the Silver While You're Here Geek Squad service. Because we're tired of dealing with this shit!
We did what we could with the walls we have. Between the art I already own that's in storage and *MOaR BoOkShElvES!* I could use another room or two just for the wall space. This here picture and the next two. Not counting the three bookcases in my office.
Last night we noticed that our Guinea Pig, Marceline, was very lethargic and not eating.
This morning she wouldn't eat and hid her face from me in the corner of the cage. When I picked her up she'd lost a lot of weight and her breathing was labored.
We called the Vet and found out the small animal vet was on vacation so they referred us to a vet in San Ramon.
So we scheduled a visit with them this morning, and I woke Matilda up so she could go with me. I went to get coffee and when I got back, Marcie had already died.
We were so worried about her sister, Prubs, when she had surgery a couple months ago, but she came through that fine.
It happened so fast.
Awww, poor Marcie. And poor you guys. How's Matilda?
Aw, I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry, David, JZ, & Matilda.
In a separate post, I wanted to share this essay, which Javachik shared elsewhere: "Baseball, barbecue and losing freedom this Fourth of July." It's an incredible piece. [link]
We put Prubs up to Marcie, and Prubs was vocalizing the way pigs do when they call to each other. Basically the "where are you?" call.
How's Matilda?
Sobbing.
