Changes to routine are hard! I am confident you'll figure it out. Exciting to have Matilda's room painted!
I keep seeing local bands with intriguing names who turn out to be Yacht Rock. Maybe I will actually go see one of them. Yachtley Crew is a great f-ing name, but their gigs are too expensive to go to just to satisfy my curiosity. Now I've run across I am the Octopus and I have even less idea of what to expect from them but there appears to be no cover where they are playing although it is across a bridge and out of the way to get to. I should probably just go to the lounge that's a couple blocks away and listen to whoever happens to play there rather than be drawn far afield by these intriguing names. If I were to go out, that is.
Mom came down we are waiting for lunch. It's busy and we are outside where it's kind of hot but there is shade and a breeze. But it's busy and I had therapy this morning and it wasn't anything big but I feel really off.
I checked my schedule next week and I'm working 5 days in a row and I don't think I can handle that
Mm, that does sound like more of a ramp up than would really be a good idea.
Yeah, that seems like a lot, askye.
I am driving up to Philly tomorrow for my ring design appointment. Very excited. I'll see my niece, too, which is a great bonus. Depending on how tired I am, I might even just stop part way home and have myself a little mini hotel vacation! But only if I'm too tired to drive it all in one day.
I think I’ll COVID test tonight. Tomorrow is day 5 from the flight out. I may test everyday for the next 4-5 days. Lots of exposure in Texas.
Hello everybody! I am sporadically around. Yesterday I took my cat to the vet and found out she is in fact going blind. No pain, no other health problems, just losing blood supply to her retina. I've been suspecting it for a couple months so am mostly over the part where I feel weirdly guilty about it and am ready to just think about what I can do. Mostly.
Hello everybody!
Hello, Emily!
Yesterday I took my cat to the vet and found out she is in fact going blind.
Oh no!
No pain, no other health problems, just losing blood supply to her retina. I've been suspecting it for a couple months so am mostly over the part where I feel weirdly guilty about it and am ready to just think about what I can do. Mostly.
Maybe a cool pair of kitty sunglasses like Ray Charles?
Hi Emily! Rough cat news, but better to know, I suppose. The cats I've known that developed deafness or nerve damage or whatever as they aged never seemed much bothered by their changing abilities as long as they still got food and cuddles and sunny spots to lie in, fwtw.
Hey Emily! Sorry about the cat.
There is someone like a block away who seems to either be mentally I’ll or on drugs (or both) who just…yells. Sometimes I can tell what they’re saying if they’re saying something (“fuck youuuuu” or “shut up!”) but mostly it’s just a sound sort of like crying but sort of like yelling? Anguish sound? But over and over. It’s happened a few times at night, but is also happening right now. It’s far enough away that I can’t see who it is (homeless person? Person in an apartment building nearby?) but it’s rather disturbing.
