Me: [knocking on Matilda's door] "Did you finish your dinner?"
Matilda: [bundled up in her Fancy Bed] "No."
Me: "Because you ate too many snacks!"
Matilda: "Hey! Did you lose any of your fundamental rights today?!"
Me: "....."
Matilda: "That's right Mr. White Man!
Me: "Okay, I'm just going to clear this bowl..."
Matilda: "Can you get me some water?"

Aww, Matilda. It is a gut-wrenching shock to different generations in different ways. How many women today will find out they are pregnant when they are unable physically, emotionally, financially, or in some way totally unable or unwilling to carry a baby to term? Having had 3 miscarriages and 2 births it is inconceivable to me to be forced to give birth. It just hurts.

Slate’s Amicus has a good emergency podcast. I haven’t had a chance to talk to any young people, but I can say this decision is really alarming my mother. I did not exist before Roe vWade. We were born in the same year.

She has covid and an ear infection. So far TCG is still negative and symptom free.
