I LOVE Spoonflower and coveted those same wallflower poppies when we were deciding which duvet cover to have made (we ended up going with Art Deco dragons and jackalopes). The rugs and doorknocker are also awesome. I can't wait to see pictures once you've moved in and gotten everything up!

That’s a fabulous pattern, Pix! I also love Hec’s wallpaper.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Back from Balticon. Mr. S had a meltdown resulting in an ER visit two of the three nights, so it was no fun. Tired and stressed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good to hear from you, Epic! I hope things continue to be OK!

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry that things are so rough that the ER has to be visited. I truly hope he gains some more control soon. You guys must be exhausted.

Epic, good to hear the chemo visit went well. I hope you are able to get some good rest while acclimating to stuff in all kinds of body places where there didn't used to be stuff.

EpicTangent, glad to hear the chemo went okay. I hope you are finding ways to stay well hydrated, well nourished, and well rested. It's a cliché because it is true: it's a marathon, not a sprint. Conserve your resources, and build good habits now that will continue to work for you in the year to come.

Not javachik

Hullo, haven't been here in awhile; new-to-me Beep Me started Nov. 24, 2020. Did the "natter diet" from about May 15-forward. Condolences, support, congratulations, happy anniversary, and general well wishes all around. Thanks for the b'day nod, Laura. Our Flag Means Death gets discussed on the JortstheCat Twitter, fwiw. Jorts is a huge fan & the showrunner reciprocated. I've had too much being with people lately & spent all day yesterday in pj's, & much of today, tho finally put clothes on. S.2 of Flight Attendant was focus yesterday+ all the extras - Allibelle is in 4 or 5 of them, explaining how they did effects. Good for her! Enjoyed S2 (and the last half of S1 that I rewatched to remember what happened.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey Java!

Good news, Epic!

I've been reading a very long Twitter thread about landline culture and phone etiquette that's probably historically important for cultural context: [link]

Like...being subjected to Dad jokes for improper phone etiquette and listening in on other lines.

Caller: Hello, is Jason there?
Dad: Yes. [silence, waiting for proper etiquette]
Caller: Hello, it's [name] May I speak to Jason?
Dad: Yes, I'll get him.

Or, jokester Dad:
"Hello, Lannister Funeral Home, you stab 'em, we slab 'em."

Or siblings racing you to the phone to answer it before you and then mocking and teasing, "Ooooooh! It's Jaaaaaason."

And the bitter resentment of phone numbers with too many 9s and 0s in them.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good to hear from you, Epic! A sense of unreality seems like a very natural and possibly helpful response.

My Fitbit tells me this morning"Keep it up, you've been getting enough sleep recently" and then tells me I slept for 6 hours and 22 minutes last night for a daily average of 5 hours and 53 minutes. I don't think we agree on what "enough" means.
