And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Met up with our general contractor, Landis (as recommended by Juliana's husband, Martin) this morning to go over the longish list of Things That Must Be Done before we move to the new house, and Emmett & Kalena move over into our current apartment.

Some of it requires timing (when to take down the wall of media units in our living room) and others involve timing plus emptiness (refinishing the floors at the new place before we start moving things in), and some of it's long term planning (build new back staircase).

It's all a big juggle. Fortunately I love change and find the process invigorating. No wait, I'm the opposite. I hate change and it makes me super crabby.

We still have to buy at least two new mattresses and one new box spring, as well as a new, bigger TV before the move - so we're hoping some Memorial Day sales magically appear to make that viable.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

One small piece of advice - if you have the floors refinished, make sure you protect them before moving in furniture and so on. I knew someone who had the floors in her new apartment refinished, but didn't move in for a while. They used her apartment to store some of the major appliances for the other apartments and tore big gouges in the nice floors.

Mr. S finally fell asleep around 10:30. He had an incident this afternoon at school that last 30 minutes. Sigh...

So for those of you who were in attendance or even just remember our wedding...yesterday was our 18th anniversary.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Happy Anniversary, Zmayhem!

I'm sorry, Sheryl.

Condolences, Windsparrow, to you and those who loved her.

Our wings are not tired.

Today is Happy Birthday to Vortex day! Have a most wonderful day filled with treats, love, and delights. May the year to come be joyous.

Also, the Nilly calendar reminds us that it is the anniversary of the first F2F in 2002! Seems like both last year and 50 years ago at the same time.

Belated happy anniversary to JZ and Hec. Happy memory for sure!

I am in prep for the trip north. Leaving the 2nd and taking 3 days this time to arrive on the 4th. Me with stuff and 2 cats, DH with a big rental truck and most of our stuff from storage, and the dog. We likely will meet up rarely during the drive, just at the daily destination as our timing will be different with my charging stops and his dog walk stops. The cost of the rental and the gas for the 1500 mile trip should be interesting. Also, I bought several head covering black fly netting hoods as it is still that time of year in the Adirondacks.
