The best antiquing is in New England, ijs.
Bit of a hike for the transportation costs, I'm afraid.
Which is the only reason I didn't buy that gorgeous Art Deco vanity in New Orleans that one time in the 80s when it was only $230.

I'm also happy to go thrifting and vintage rummaging locally--I know all the SF spots, but if any broader-Bay-Area localistas want to hit me up with your favorite thrift/vintage/consignment/miscellaneous stuff places in the North, South and East Bays, and maybe plan an outing, let me know.
This poor place has a crapton of long-deferred maintenance, most of which isn't critical but a couple of items of which are, so we're gonna need to pour most of our extra funds into addressing those items, and any furnishings we can find at thrift store prices will help.
I know the Oakland Museum White Elephant Sale is legendary--and also happening in-person again in March, so I'm definitely doing that. What else? Where else?
JZ, you need to visit my friend's shop in the Midtown Bliss antique mall in Sacramento!!! This is her shop: [link]
Thanks, lisah! I definitely definitely will.
ION, I spent the afternoon carting two teenagers around and eating all the dinners, and now I am so tired I feel about to drop. It's barely 7 PM on the second day of a 3-day weekend, but I am honestly not sure I can make it to 8. (Like, that stage of tired where I've been sitting here for 15 minutes thinking about how I should put my pajamas on, but since that would entail making the effort to stand up and take my current clothes off, I don't know if I can do it.)
I hope you are comfortably attired and asleep (or on your way to it) by now, JZ
I wish I had tomorrow off, but I did have a pretty good weekend. and every day the sunrise is earlier and the sunset is later, and around here that’s a thing to celebrate.

this right here.
Preach.
Bought a hair product yesterday that I actually like! Dry texture finishing spray by Tresasemmé. It actually does give my straight, thin strands some oomph without being sticky, so everything doesn't just fall flat and forward like normal. Here ends the free advertising.
No day off today. Can't complain. We get a lot of holidays.

Jacqueline already purchased our first item for the Attic library. The all important Vintage Steamer Trunk, this one with a hotel sticker from Raffles in Singapore: [link]
We might just cosplay the entire house up at this rate.
