Thank you for the condolences the other day. Any ~ma that can be spared for my Aunt A would be appreciated. They've been married for something like 50 years, and this is going to be awful for her. Her daughters are with her now, but none of them live in the same state with her.

Hope the vaccine/booster keep it just an annoyance. Omicron seems to avoid the lungs, unlike earlier waves, which is good. It just sets up shop in the sinuses, which is super gross but less worrisome.

It's just as good today as I remember from when I was a little kid back in the 70s (though the ice cream is a bit less of a draw to me these days). Admirable since it was bought out by a new family back in the 90s, but my guess is they didn't change anything about the food prep.

And yeah, I have to double check with my work system but normally some of the FSA would roll over if not spent? But I think because they changed providers it doesn’t? You do have a few months to submit receipts though. I just didn’t think I had that much left in there!!

Note though that if you LEAVE your job but INTENDED to put $2k in the FSA you’re allowed to spend up to $2k before you leave your company and get it reimbursed EVEN IF YOU HAVENT FUNDED IT YET!

I'm annoyed that I have had a little bit of a sore throat for a few days, but apparently it's not covid, so that's nice. But that is what I get for going back out into the world!

I have done 10 peer reviews, and now I am down to my last one, but it is my biggest work frenemy, so I have to decide how much to get into. Nothing I have to say would be a surprise, I'm sure.

David I hope that it is mild and over quickly for you. I hope that JZ and Matilda can dodge it.

Ditto this for me. Also, I took a personal day today to catch up on grading, and while I am FINALLY making progress, I am so filled with donwanna.

I filed my tax return! My federal refund is still going to pay my 2019 tax bill, but I'm getting a not insignificant to me refund from CA, so that's nice.
