I'm back at her house. They didn't have a room at the hospital so she is in an ER room. At least in an actual room with lights out and not in the hall now. I left because I'll be good to no one if I try and stay in a hard seat straight back chair in the ER for the night. I'll go back in the morning. Hoping that since it is a laparoscopic type thing and they don't have rooms I can get her home before too long after surgery. I told her she now has to tolerate me watching the Superbowl in her hospital room if necessary!
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Oh, geez, Laura. I'm glad for her sake you were there. Wishing her solid sleep and an early, quick, and very smooth procedure tomorrow. Good sleep for you, too.
Thanks Jen. Back at hospital. No schedule yet.
Hope you slept OK. How's she doing?
Yay Zhmayhems!
Laura, are you with your NY sister or in FL? In NY we are still experiencing “elective” surgery delays.
Happy Belated Birthdays to Pix and Maria!
Hooray, house-buying!
Also: GO BENGALS!
I slept pretty soundly since it was real late for me. I’m in Florida. Still no room available so still in ER. High season here so lots of overcrowding everywhere including hospitals. The straight back wooden chair sucks but better than a kidney stone. Morphine has her pretty out of it at least.
Feel so bad since her grandson and great granddaughter arrive tomorrow. At least maybe he’ll get a clue that she can’t travel and he should more often.
Bengals!! I was having my annual SB party, but I just told Judi we were watching the game even if on hospital. She doesn’t do football. All the nurses have their favorite team t-shirts on. Our nurses are Green Bay and Oakland.
Very excited for you, Zmayhems!!!
Hope your sister's surgery happens soon, Laura. She's lucky to have you there with her.
This radical change in temperature and, I think, affects of sitting by a firepit all evening are making my face hurt. I need a warm compress.
My uncle D passed away from Covid today. He leaves a wife of, 3 daughters, and 3 grandkids. He was a stern man when I was younger, and I was always really intimidated by him, but in his later years he really got into gourmet cooking and I was able to have conversations with him about that and about books.
