Our wings are not tired.

That's where we are. Buying a home is stressful.

I have purchased property 4 times (once the business building), and Every Single Time it is super stressful. Nothing ever happens on the expected timeline. There is always another avadavat for some bullshit. OMG, I was late with a utility payment 14 years ago now need to write a letter explaining the reasons. It is torture. Upside, it does come together and is so awesome when it is finished. (ps, in case it wasn't already obvious banks and insurance companies are inherently evil)

There is probably a gif out there of Jack Benny saying “I’m thinking, I’m thinking!” that you could use.

Or one of those buried under paperwork graphics.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I've watched people go through the process and this seems true. I'm just going through it now and it's unpleasant.

The weird part is that the Trust we set up to deal with some Capital Gains issues is super common in estate planning, but apparently wildly exotic to lenders.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Ditto. We've had four houses, and there's always some kind of hiccup which turns into Big Drama.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hey, any of you out there who bought a house ever got to the place where it's frantic and you have to fill out a lot of forms and underwriters are balking at the mortgage over some technical detail and your realtor says you have to make a bid in the morning but....

Twice! Nope, three times! If you include the one we backed out of at the last minute. Purchasing property suuuuuuuuuuucks!

But in the end you do get a house to live in, so you know.

OTOH, scratchy-bitey kitten sounds adorable, if kind of exhausting.

Significantly less adorable this morning now that it looks like I've been running the backs of my hands over a cheese grater. I need to buy him some kind of toy he can take his excess energy out on, stat.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

House buying is always super stressful. Much house ~ma to Hec and JZ.

sweetie, HE works for YOU. Of course, you don't want to make him unhappy, but if you are doing what you need to do and he is unhappy, then tough snoogie oogies.

And listen to Vortex.

New to me car's windshield wiper fluid wasn't coming out this morning. So, I stopped at the mechanic hoping I just needed the fluid refilled, but of course it wasn't that simple. So, now I have to drop the car off at the mechanic on Monday morning. I hate how much money everything is costing lately.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Tim's family has switched over into high gear now that the visitation is tonight. I can't believe how many texts have gone back and forth since 7:30 a.m. But the texts are (mostly) not to me, so I'm just offering feedback when Tim asks and otherwise responding with listening noises.

Turns out that both the funeral home AND the church where the funeral Mass is tomorrow don't require masks, so I feel like we're about to launch merrily into a superspreader event. I had a dream last night that I got into an argument with an anti-masker Jesus freak. I'm glad I can use Covid as an excuse to keep people from hugging me, though.

It's not the check in that I mind, it's the cutesy "poke" that I find irritating.

I'm glad I can use Covid as an excuse to keep people from hugging me, though.

But if I'm masked and vaxxed and boosted, I can hug you for as long as I want right? ;)

(sends air hugs to Teppy)
