I just booked a trip to San Francisco!
Woo hoo!
Or, what shrift said.
Matilda was having an awful Monday morning. Her period bled through and she had couldn't sleep during the night, and woke up dreary, crampy and with a headache. And then I had to listen to her complain/explain why it was so unfair that they were going to do Tuesday schedule twice this week, and skip Monday schedule. (She has block schedules and Monday and Thursday are her favorites.)
She came out of her room to sit on the couch (which she usually doesn't do in the morning) to drink her coffee and eat her English muffin with cream cheese. And while I bustled around getting her lunch together and handing her ibuprofen she plaintively said, "Don't leave" when I was going to get something. So I just sat with her for a minute and hugged her.
And it was sweet.
This town is getting bonkers over the Super Bowl. The CEO of Tim's company just announced that the day after the Super Bowl is an official paid company holiday this year. I assume he's expecting everyone to be hungover as shit, win or lose.
Awww, I’m sure that improved her Monday considerably.
Woot for SF visit! Woot for canceled meetings!
It’s just a normal Monday here. Saw sibs over the weekend which was nice. SIL and others visiting from NY so I’ll likely see them later. Feel almost social.
Roll up puzzle map seems handy.
That is sweet, Hec. I hope her day has improved.
Nice, Tom! Man, I haven't been to California since I was fourteen, and it was just that one visit (to see a good friend who had moved out to Berkley with her family). Loved it, though.
I did manage to go to the drug store. Now I have to work. For real. I've had lunch. It's time.
Yay for bonus day off and SF trips.
2022 can go fuck off. I'm over this year. There is more drama over my late cousin. I forgot that he has another child. Or might. He hadn't had contact with the kid for a long time and there were questions about paternity but no tests were ever done. The child was not mentioned in my cousin's obituary and the mother threatened to go to the memorial and make a scene. So that has been postponed. She also claims she can't afford a DNA test and Mom offered to pay and there was more drama that kept her up all night.
This morning Mom woke up to her other sister calling because that aunt's step daughter's husband died in his sleep last night. He was 62. Her step daughter realized this when she woke up and he was unresponsive. He didn't have any medical issues.
My god, askye. That's way too much. I'm so sorry for all the family trouble.
If I good get some good vibes at 1 pm board time, that would be rad.
Sending vibes starting now
