I just learned that I was eligible for 90 days of Peacock TV Premium for free! Which means I can watch ALL THE CURLING.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I was wrong about my 5-year jacket, the lining does not zip out. I must have been thinking of some other jacket. It does have a handy interior pocket sized to hold my office key card, though, which is certainly convenient.
My silly band just had an online dance party, which ended with me in my apartment alone, wearing sunglasses, doing some of our band choreography to "Dynamite" by BTS, and I highly recommend!! You can just freestyle if you don't know our choreo.
I’m kind of stunned by my company’s rewards system. We have a program called R3s (rewards & recognition plus our company name) whereby any employee can write up a few words about someone else doing a job well - anything from extra help one time to something major like a lot of nights and weekend work for a major submission. The “points” are basically a dollar toward and enormous catalogue of cool stuff OR one can simply choose a Visa gift card to use however they see fit. I asked HR to run a report last month on 2021 so I could see if there were huge gaps in recognitions and the average amount of points my 55 folks had was like 2000 awarded to them in 2021. One person had 5500 or something because he’s on a program that is extremely active and is always being sent R3s for his weekend work on a program with impossible deadlines. Junior staff (up to associate manager) have a cap of how much and how often they can reward someone but the cap for people who are managers and above is 1,000 per R3 award, and it just needs my approval and that of our HR business partner. It’s unreal. And it’s all grossed up! Meaning if someone awards me 1,000, then the company *actually* gives me something like 1,333 so that they end up paying the taxes due for the 1,000. At my last company, we were able to give colleagues a “cheers for peers” which had to be approved by HR every time (only amounts over $500 have to be approved at my current place) and it was a mug and a $50 American Express gift card. And the kicker is that on your W-2, it showed as $70 that you were taxed on! A $20 mug? Get outta here!
One of my reports, a director, has her 10 year anniversary soon and the reward is 400 R3s.
Timelies all!
Today's been a little better than yesterday, as far as Mr. S's behavior goes. Still had shenanigans with his meds in the morning, but he has been a little calmer.
This football game is KILLING me! What a 3rd quarter!
THIS FUCKING GAME
That is an amazing program, javachik.
Way too lazy a weekend. Reading and some walking. Should have done some house stuff, but didn't happen. Another showing tomorrow. I discussed with DH that we need to get ahead of the frantic prep we go through prior to showings. Like do a list of stuff when not rushed. Maybe he heard me and will start making it a calmer process.
Brendon clipped a trash can out a bit far on a street and cracked my side mirror. Just the glass, the surround is fine. No other options but to put in a mobile service request so tech will come Thursday morning. Of course, since my son is the mobile tech he'll be making the call. He won't get a tip. In fact, since they do contactless service I can just leave the car in the driveway. The techs can access via app. We'll see if he comes or somehow manages to pass it off on someone else.
We are without a truck so he has been driving my car. No biggie since I am not really driving anyway. Insurance totaled the truck, which was fine, except for the challenge of finding a new or even used truck. I told him to just chill and rent a truck for a day when he needs to tow the boat or cart stuff. He will never understand my go with the flow trust that the right truck will happen at the right time.
Football is on in the other room where the guys are shooting pool, but I have been reading and not paying attention. I told them I am waiting until the last 5 minutes with the expectation that the payoff history holds true.
I went to book club—four of us under an outdoor canopy. About two hours in we realized we hadn’t even mentioned the book (even though at least two had finished it and one was halfway through). Oops! Hah
