I’m so sorry about the illness and loss in your family, askye.
We’re expecting to get mostly ice here on Sunday. Oh, and an hour or so of high winds after the ice has had a chance to accumulate. I’m assuming I’ll spend Sunday night in the dark, cuddling the cats. Eh, I have blankets. And my niece gave me these light bulbs that go into sockets like usual, but they charge while being on. Then, if the power goes out, they’ll supposedly keep working for hours.
sj, woot! And that sounds like a heavenly weekend. Plus, a weekend at Camp Grandparents is awesome for ltc. Everybody wins!
Thanks! We watched 3 whole hours of TV last night. Usually by the time we get ltc to bed, we manage 1 show before we crash.
I accidentally stayed up until 1am last night which is very unlike me these days. But I was playing with the oculus and then got sucked into finishing the latest outlander book (which continues to be both ridiculously long and also bananas). Then I slept until 10am and now I have a headache. Stupid adulthood.
My sink sprung a leak. There seems to be nothing connecting the drain to the pipe! My house is a mess. Now I have towels everywhere— I so hope that this does not leak down into the other apartment. I think I got it all with a bucket. But while I am not as messy as I was when I had my predicament, I still need to clean before I feel comfortable having the landlord come. But it is also somewhat hard to clean without a sink when dishes are a thing I have trouble with!
Oh no! Do you have a laundry basket or something you could put the dishes in to relocate them temporarily?
Yup! Dishes are in laundry basket ready to go out to the back porch! But literally a sink full of water just started pouring everywhere and I am glad I thought fast enough to get a bucket to catch it! There is literally no connect between the bottom of the drain and the top of the pipe! I was doing the dishes that I had let pile up!
Oh, no, Sophia!! That is uncalled for, sink.
Timelies all!
Sorry about your sink, Sophia.
Quiet day here, even more than usual since Mr. S has been napping most of the afternoon.
Just finished making mushroom risotto for my aunt. who is recovering (well) from hip surgery. It turned out drier than usual. Instead of trying to correct it (which I'm not sure why I didn't), I'm telling her to add a skosh more water than she might ordinarily when she heats it up. Hope that works. Disappointing it's not a great batch, but it's still pretty damn good. Heading over for drop-off now.
Ugh, Sophia, but good for you on the quick thinking.
