But, like, zombie princess Snow White.

Well, yeah.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have to say, I haven't been impressed with this week, and I would like things to stop sucking for everyone.

That pretty much sums it up! Yikes.

Along with the alcohol, I find self-assessments (and others' assessments, honestly) go better for me when I do it in dribs and drabs, and at least some off the clock. I definitely can't just sit down and do it straight through.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Heh. She would like that description. I’ll have to tell her later. She had a much better day at school. Her teacher has handled it.

ION, we need a new oil tank.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Self-evils are not a thing I've had to deal with, thankfully. Performance reviews are pretty painless. The head of the lab has basically been writing the same thing every year for the past few years. (Since that usually includes a recommendation for an award, I don't mind.)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I love self-evils, Sheryl.

In Covid shitshow news, we had to go to all online orientation MID-DAY today. Like we broke for lunch and sent people home. With all sorts of different messaging. Some from the President and Provost, some from the Dean and others from the Program Directors and everything is contradictory! And it is all being sent to the students too!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

[side-eyes 2022] Not a great first week on the job buddy. Room for improvement.

I found out that after the Oxford, MI school shooting there were copycat attempts at the school where my sister teaches. (She lives 20 minutes from Oxford, and it’s still very much a thing on people’s minds up there.) None got past the front door. But one had apparently had my sister’s name on a list. And now she’s back working at that school and having to make learning plans for her would-be murderer in juvie. I’m on the side of “let the vile little bastard wallow in his willful ignorance,” but she’s definitely the superior sister and is doing it.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh Calli, way too close to home. Very unnerving,

Friday! Watched a bunch of the 1/6 coverage yesterday. Still in shock that this actually happened. Then I went and read my book because fiction is much better than reality.

Feeling significantly better today. Reminding myself to not try and do all the things since I can do something for a change.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We are on a delayed start today and my division in the department are all working from home and I still do not want to even log on.

I shoveled the sidewalks on my side of the block this morning. Neighbor on the other side already did their side. This was the first shoveling of the year for me as the neighborhood kids had handled the first snow. My block likes carrots y’all.

Today, for the first snowy day in seven years, I have a Super who shovels instead of me.
