Hyphenated, yes. It's so weird when nothing looks right with words.
I shoveled the sidewalk and walkway. It was wet and heavy, but not hard or icy, so there's that. I didn't touch the car or driveway. I don't need to go anywhere until Wednesday. Eh, I guess I should still get the snow off of the car, at least, so it doesn't get hard and icy. Don't wanna go out right now, though.
It is all very pretty.
No snow in San Francisco, but no rain at the moment either which is nice after a very wet December (which will hopefully ease next Fall's fire season a bit).
It's grey and chilly, and I like that because hot drinks and scarves. Matilda is back at school and the FDA just approved Boosters for 12-15 y.o.'s so we're going to sign her up for that as soon as possible. SFUSD looks intent on NOT shutting down during this surge, so I'm hoping they do a lot more at-school testing but no word on that. They're fucking inept. Oakland, in contrast, sent out at-home kits to all families over break so they could test before returning. Which seems like a better plan.
All my holiday indulgences are over and I'm leaning hard into getting lean again. Off to buy some ground turkey to that end.
It's been warm (40s, 50s) and rainy here, but today it's just cold (20s) and cloudy but dry. Back to the WFH grind -- we've been told to WFH at least through the University's winter break, but we'll see. The last time they sent us home, it was for a two-week trial, ha ha ha sob.
Our brand-new mayor is also keeping the schools open, and he also stated that we can beat COVID-19 because we have SWAGGER.
we can beat COVID-19 because we have SWAGGER.
It's weird that there's no PCR test to measure levels of SWAGGER. Because that would be really helpful.
I have mixed feelings about the schools being open, because that's where so many kids are getting fed these days. No mixed feelings about the swagger statement; that's just stupid.
We've shoveled, sledded and sat in front of the TV. Soon we're going to a bonfire with cocoa.
A bonfire with cocoa sounds excellent! Hmm, maybe I'll make some cocoa later...
That must be a comfort, Tom.
I am seriously considering taking a full week off for the high holidays this year and again for Hanukkah because the timing is pretty convenient for both and I appear to have a ton of PTO to be accrued by then. I should have around 6 months of sick time but I can't figure out how to leverage that to my benefit.
No snow or rain but it is pretty darn cold, at least by local standards. I haven't looked at the temperature but my toes feel pretty icy and the cat is sticking close to my warmth.
Oh, my company gave us EOY/Xmas gifts which were a fleece blanket and a reusable water bottle with the company name/logo on them. For some reason this is hilarious to me. Such curl-up-on-the-couch items to get from work. But I'm certainly using them.
If you look on the Swagger website, there's no mention of anything that will help with JIRA issue COVID-19.
