All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Timelies! I just caught up on the last 2 weeks of Natter. Please know that appropriate sympathies and vibes were expressed as I read.

My Thanksgiving was a quiet day away from A Christmas Carol tech (opening is tonight) just like in the before times. I read a book while the cats took turns on my lap and then made a sweet potato, carrot, red lentil soup and an apple crisp. Tomorrow is a focus and then into tech for the next show.

Thrive to spite them

Two turkeys sounds good.

Shrift stay safe.

Mom called and I got snippy at her. Pretty sure it's the concussion. I have an appointment on Tuesday with a GP. M will drive me. Mom asked me a bunch of questions I don't have answers to. Like about workers comp. I guess they were closed all week so I have heard nothing from them. I don't know if I'll get paid or how that works.

Or when I'll go back to work. Or what the dr will suggest. Mom "what do you think the dr will say?" I don't know. I've never had thos before .

I did think to text my manager and let her know about my Dr's appointment. She asked if was scheduled off tomorrow. I told her no but the Dr's note covered me until Tues, which I have off.

I'm just bored and irritated and frustrated with a lack of information. I forgot to take the last dose of medicine and yeah I do need it .

I swear I'm not using screens that much .

I tried listening to podcasts or audio books but I don't like podcasts and I only really like audio books if I'm doing something else. I can't explain the podcast thing but I never liked talk radio either.

Good luck askye!!

I am embarrassed and awkward because I’m supposed to go dancing with my friend shortly. But for breakfast we walked like 1.5 miles each way. And apparently the particular underwear and leggings I was wearing are not compatible with a 3 mile walk because now I have a huge blister. Owwwwww. Not sure how well I’m going to be able to dance! Booooo. I know how to handle blisters on my feet, I’ve had them plenty of times before, but this is new.

Our wings are not tired.

Bracing for a Monday after my practices mostly have been closed 4-1/2 days. Why did I schedule a doctor's visit this afternoon? May I survive the day.

Our wings are not tired.

Have I mentioned that (coworker)DH is the best recently, and also loves carrots? He knows that my first hour or so of the day, particularly Mondays, more particularly after a holiday, are horrendously busy. There are processes I manually do that need a coding solution to automate. Anyway, this morning he said that he was going to do them and kicked me out. He wants to have greater insight into how the processes can be automated to eliminate my morning crush. See also big heart-shaped emoticons.

So ya know, I am kicking around the internet and drinking coffee, watching tv news. All that stuff that people with actual lives do I suppose.

Nice, Laura! You won the coworker lottery, for sure. Heh.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Thanksgiving was great - sister's kids are one dose in so I actually got to be in the same room with them eating food. It was marvelous. Last year I didn't see them from October to March.

My brother in law can be... a pill. When his mother is there he can be a whole bottle of pills. Long ago I decided to stop going into his kitchen during prep because its just not worth it. I'll clean up afterward and help that way.

At some point my sister comes out and says, "Hey Trudy, any strong feelings about if cranberry sauce should be warm or cold?" "You know, I've literally never thought about that in my entire life." "Me either!" Then she sighed, steeled herself, and re-entered the kitchen.

Having since considered it, cranberry sauce is great whatever way. If you made it the day before with jello/nuts/oranges and sixteen other ingredients and its in the fridge, cold it is! If you're making it day of and it never makes it to the fridge, warm! If you open a can for to enjoy the smooth consistency and the ridges - room temperature! There is no wrong manner or temperature for cranberry sauce. The only thing one can do wrong, even if you dislike the stuff and enjoy it solely as literal bright spot on a largely brownish table, is to not have cranberry sauce.

Thrive to spite them

I called workers comp and according to then they never talked to anyone from my store. Excpet when I got off the phone with them on the 20th a supervisor was on their way up to talk to the nurse and I was going to figure our about getting to the ER.

From what I've heard this is pretty typical for Corvel. One co worker never finshed her physical therapy because she couldn't get in touch with them and almost never could heard from them after the initial contact.

They filled my prescription though which I thought was odd but I don't have have the mental power to argue with anyone .

On the plus side because I was on the phone I was walking around and I only got a little dizzy instead of really dizzy. And I feel a little less brain foggy.

I didn't sleep most of the night, I think because I slept so much during the day, I just got up so I don't know how I'll feel the rest of the day.

I don't think cranberry should be an argument point on Thanksgiving

Although my mom's mom had a recipe for cranberry jello salad that dad kind of took over and it's actually pretty good even if people didnt eat a lot of it.

I think I appreciate the tanginess of cranberry as a respite from all the starchy sameness of Thanksgiving more as an adult.

One year I when I was on my super strict no acid diet I made a really great cranberry orange compote thing that I never tasted (but had others taste) and have never been able to replicate. I kiss winged it.

Which is how I made the potato salad that dad loved and I've never been able to replicate.

This post brought to you by concussion ramblings...

The lost potato salad... that's very whistful to me even without a concussion.

My cranberry sauce is the Ocean Spray bag recipe with half the sugar and some orange zest. Not too much though or you barely taste the cranberry!
