Jesse, I tried melatonin for a while and it didn't seem to make a difference. I've been on Trazadone for sleep issues, and have no problem falling asleep. It's just the waking up too early thing.

I should have gone to the doctor yesterday. Or I guess the ER. I have a mild concussion and Dr's orders to stay home until Monday. But I'm off on Monday and Tues so I think I'll end up going back Tuesday.

I'm not suslpposed to be doing mentally strenuous things like reading. Being on a computer or texting but I haven't followed that.

Manager said I needed to slow down...I know I have issues with moving too fast but honestly...I wasn't walking that fast. The door opens inward to the left and I had to walk into the stock room to the left...and the arm of the fixture was on the right..I don't think I saw it, or I did and turned my head to avoid getting hit in the face.

It's a freaking hazard. Almost every stock room is because people are just trying to get stuff out od the way and are overworked and tired.

In other Covid fuckery news, I found out a cousin of mine was in town with her family today, wanting to meet with Mom for lunch, and got all snippy with her upon being asked if everyone had been vaccinated. Mom tried to smooth things over and got a rant about the vaccines being ineffective, the populace being experimented on by the government (read: Biden), and a "maybe next year."

No big loss in my opinion, though I'm seething that an 82-year old woman who had cancer treatment this summer was made to feel like she'd done something wrong for being careful about her own health. Maybe I'll get Mom a ouija board for Christmas in case she wants to keep in touch with the idiot fundie in-laws in 2022.

I am still torn about Thanksgiving, but we don’t even know if my cousin in coming… My mom and I had a sort of heated discussion because I think that my aunt should at least ask for vaccine status so we can all make informed decisions. I also think we should mask when not eating. My mom and my aunt are podded, but none of the rest of us are…

I rented out the local skating rink for 2 hours on Thanksgiving Day. It may only be me, but I will skate and eat pizza.

I’m continuing on with NaClYoHo, and it’s starting to really show. My kitchen is looking really nice. I’m less worried about making my house presentable for guests next week than I would usually be.

Doctor is advising that the rest of my sister's family not get tested if they are fully vaxxed unless they have symptoms. WTF? Whyyyyy.

I was going to say, "Because the fucking CDC never updated their fucking guidelines to accommodate the reality of the fucking Delta variant," BUT apparently they have, so it's just because the doctor is a fuckeroonie.

Per the CDC:

You [i.e. vaccinated people] should still get tested if you’ve had close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or if you have symptoms of COVID-19.

When we've had exposures, we've been told to test about 5 days after.

Had the 2nd showing to the couple who looked at the house in June, including her parents this time. Should hear from them today with an offer.

Walked my first 5K today, yay. My original goal had been to run it, but I slacked off on training! So, now I have a baseline time that is very beatable. Bright side! Plus I got to see my cousins, so, win all around.

Woo JenP! I really enjoyed the 5Ks when I did them. Social plus shiny medal. Very satisfying. I always walked. Maybe next year I will do them again.
