It is windy and blustery today, and the street of half flooded, so I think the beach is trying to make me less sad about leaving. (I'm not really that sad; had a great time.)
I'm also learning how to use Instagram today, so, apologies in advance if you follow me.
Always kind of nice for the weather to not be lovely when it's time to leave the beach. Less taunty.
I have an hour before my next meeting, woohoo! My meetings today are all talking about things other than than the current whatever-this-is outage/closure/mess which seems weird but I guess we do need to talk about this other stuff on the assumption that everything will eventually be fixed enough for business to resume...
Oh, other fun thing, someone said today that if we were scheduled to work the sale yesterday and we didn't show up we would be rescheduled to a later date, which is fine although they'd better check when I am available and not just put me down for whenever they have an opening, but as everyone who heard that said "if we didn't show up? We were told the sale wasn't happening by HR and to not even go to the office but work from home!" but apparently some people got emails from the person organizing the sale that she wanted people to show up for their scheduled sale and turn people away. But not me and not other people who were scheduled, so that's some good old fashioned corporate communication.
Down to 3400+ email for unregistered and /or unvaccinated employees (out of 9000+).
Emailed thyme all again today.
I am pretty sure that # is not capturing all the employees without work emails. No one is giving me an answer about those employees.
Also? I hate everything.
Hating everything seems like a fair response to that
That does seem worthy of hate, as does -t's corporate ability to communicate.
I'm miserable with a UTI, again. Usually I can flood it out when I feel the first twinge, but it only got worse. Finally, I broke down and had my doctor call in a script. It is bad enough that I had to make DH go get it because I can't travel a mile to get it myself. Well,' it is more the getting in and out of the car a couple of times that is the issue. Ugh. I have an appointment at the end of November with a doctor to deal with the prolapse that is causing the problem. Bodies be stupid.
Ugh. Bodies are dumb, Laura. I’ve been going to PT for about six weeks for back pain and still feel like it’s doing nothing.
Msbelle that sounds like a Sisyphean task.
Msbelle, I really, really feel your pain. It is so similar to what happened to me except times thousands of people. And I was just so angry with everything and everyone. And I am sure the employees without work emails think will suddenly become an urgent issue that you will have to deal with.
I also hate UTIs.
I am busy at work trying to actually plan for some things that I know will be asked of me last minute in November and December. Hopefully this, and the fact that there is actually a plan for Covid vaccine collection for Spring that the University Registrar signed off on so I won’t be stuck in a 2 month feedback loop of “students need to provide a vaccine proof before they register to a system they don’t have access to until they register”.
But today we decorated pumpkins with coworkers I actually like! So that was fun.
What a shitshow, msbelle.

Good luck with that.
Ugh, bodies.
Jesse, you are right. I should prepare for that plan to go to shit as well, since in July I also had an approved plan that blew up in my face.
My happy today was the Indigo Girls. Someone on one of my true crime podcasts asked for Indigo Girls recommendations because she had never heard of them! And we were all like- um- all of it! So I blasted it from my office today.
