Health-ma, hippocampus.

Oh jeez, Pix, good luck with all of that! What kind of help?

Dad has been having some cognitive issues the past couple of years, and he recently sold the condo in Florida he’s been renting out the past 6-7 years. During that process, I uncovered he’s been having issues with overdrafts due to his confusion between banks (he still has one back in Connecticut in addition to the one in Florida where he lives), and he’s been getting confused about some other financial stuff. He actually asked me for help, so I needed to go. So flying today (since I can’t fly on a weekday while I’m teaching and next weekend would be much busier with holiday travel), quarantining at an AirBnB for a week, and then will have about five days with him to get the old bank accounts closed and all his income and bills over to his new account.

On the plus side, his 78th birthday is tomorrow — I won’t be able to get close, but I can at least drive to his place and wish him a happy birthday from a distance.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Health ma for hippocampus

Travel ma for Pix and health ma for her and her dad.

Also I am glad to hear I am not the only one who saw this Silas Marner movie. I am not alone, and maybe I can take the red Sudafed again.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Reminder that the Holiday Zoom call is this morning and shortly.

Chez Zmayhem will be joining midway once JZ and Matilda get back from church.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Poking my head in to say 'hi' and see what's going on.

Work is not going well and I am incredibly stressed out. My contract expires at the end of Jan so I have to find a new job again.

I had envisioned returning here with tales of my successes in the KC area but....

I am seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist and getting treatment, btw.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Sorry, tommyrot. The year is bad enough without those additional challenges.

It's nice to see you tommyrot; I'm sorry about the work situation. Work and job search ~ma to you.

Oatmeal:

And from yesterday

I had my first PT appointment for my shoulder/neck today.

I hope it starts helping right away, sj.

Good, safe travels to you, Pix.

I’m so sorry about the job stress, tommyrot. And sj, so sorry you’re dealing with such pain in such an already difficult time.

I made it through security in less than 5 minutes. The good news is that the terminal is deserted, and it looks like the flight is mostly empty. I’m feeling much better about the risks, though I still wouldn’t go anywhere right now if I didn’t have to.

Agreed, but good to hear, Pix.
