I'm very glad I picked this apartment complex. Yes, the fixtures are out of date, but they maintain the shit out of this place. The first summer I was here, they resurfaced the parking lot. The next summer, they replaced the roofs on all the buildings. This summer they're painting the exteriors. This past winter, they resurfaced the swimming pool (which I've never used, because it's always packed with kids). If I put a call in for something, it's dealt with. There are quarterly inspections for leaks (and for a glance around the place, I'm sure, but I don't have anything out that I won't admit to). Rent increases have been reasonable, and I'm happy to be here.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I hear that, Connie. My old apartment complex was on top of plowing the lot and shoveling the sidewalks when it snowed, which I sorely miss.

When there's a snowstorm here, the parking lot's plowed before I leave for work. When I thank the guys doing the work, though, they look embarrassed. I keep thinking of making cookies to leave for them in the office, but I don't know if that's weird.

I bet they'd appreciate it!

Sadly the interwebs are not entertaining me, so I think I will turn on the tv machine and plug in the work laptop and do work while watching stories.

Watching the debates. I always do, so here I am. It will be easier when there are a lot fewer candidates.

I swear to dog, I went MONTHS with no hot flashes and I've now been having them for about a week and they are getting longer and more intense. I SWEAR ON THESE TIRED ASS OVARIES I WILL CUT A BITCH IF THEY DO NOT STOP SOON. I am past due for an appt with my PCP, so I guess I add this to the list.

Damn, I just caught up on 1100+ posts. So sorry about Coco, Fred, and much ~ma to chrismg's mom and Cindy's son.

Dana, IIRC, we gave our banking details to Virgin Air at about the same point in the process b/c of currency differences.

In McWaringle news, we appear to buying a house in and moving to Austin next month.
