I arrived at the office to the sound of LOUD music playing ... I checked and it was an early arrival who thought he'd be alone in our section of the office.
Turns out he deserves a good deal of leniency (loud music is generally frowned upon in our open office) but it seems that yesterday he - and another driver - spotted a drunk driver on the highway, got the drunk to pull over then parked in front and behind him. When the drunk got out of his car to yell at the other driver, the car rolled back and hit my co-worker's car. The police were appreciative, since the drunk would probably have caused a serious accident if left to go on, but the co-worker had to get a police report verifying that he hadn't hit the drunk from the rear. A trip that he expected to have him home around 7:00 ended up with him not arriving until about 11:00 ... so he's kind of tired.
So far, worst it's been is MIL calling accessible tables "for crippled." But there's two hours to go.
Bah! I thought I was getting over this miserable summer cold but I woke up with pink eye.
What the hell, body? Ill health feels like a betrayal.
Ugh, pink eye. Bummer.
This day is creeping by in its petty pace from hour to hour.
I've had three colds (along with a bout of food poisoning) this spring and summer. I'm sick of being sick.
That's a lot. Boo.
I am getting hot and sour soup delivered. That should fix me right up.
I'm hoping I'm on the upswing of a very mild cold, rather than one that is just taking it's sweet time settling in. My throat doesn't hurt anymore, but the coughing may be about to begin, I fear.
I went to bed early, and slept surprisingly well! I woke up shortly after falling asleep because of fireworks, but then I'm sure I slept through others! That was a surprise, when I woke up this morning!
Sweet, we can go early. Me and my soup are going straight to bed.
I have like 20 minutes by myself in a hotel room with Wimbledon on the telly. Bliss.
