You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I really should have. I did just buy some canned champagne cocktails on the way home from the museum.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Mimosas exist for a reason.

These are French 75. They had a wine tasting at the store I stopped in.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Depending on the weather, there will be a 4th of July celebration tomorrow nearby that Gary and Mr.S(and possibly me, depending on how I feel) will go to.

Staying faaar away from DC.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have several things I would like to get done tomorrow with my day off. I fear sleeping in and plopping on the couch and doing nothing.

Options include:

-getting up early and doing yardwork
-taking down Christmas tree (I said I was going to leave it up all year, but think it might be time)
-tackle stuff from the pile of things that need fixing (mostly clothes)

Herding cats for fun

Happy birthday sj! May your kid settle down a bit for you.

Coincidentally today is also DH's bday and we spent the day eating too much and reading books on the patio. I dug my 70s copy of Dune Messiah out of the deepest of cold storage for him.

My neighborhood loves fireworks. They've been going off all week. Tomorrow I can stand on the front lawn and see them in every direction, which is pretty fun.

Our wings are not tired.

I went to my friend's neighborhood celebration last night. It is an airport community, and I swear they spend as much as the city does for fireworks. It was awesome.

Today is maniacal organizing and packing because I am hitting the road in the morning!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Taking the Christmas tree down on the 4t of July sounds kind of perfect

I should go buy some Mucinex, now that I have remembered that it exists and is helpful, but that would take getting dressed. Bah.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I spent the night at my aunt and uncle's beach house (well, shore house -- it's right on the water, but there are just rocks between the house and the ocean), and this morning did the dumb thing where it feels like we're just sitting around and it's really too hot to be in the sun, so I don't put on sunscreen, so now I'm a little crispy. Which I actually like, even though I know it's bad!

Happy 4th.
