I went to my friend's neighborhood celebration last night. It is an airport community, and I swear they spend as much as the city does for fireworks. It was awesome.
Today is maniacal organizing and packing because I am hitting the road in the morning!
Taking the Christmas tree down on the 4t of July sounds kind of perfect
I should go buy some Mucinex, now that I have remembered that it exists and is helpful, but that would take getting dressed. Bah.
I spent the night at my aunt and uncle's beach house (well, shore house -- it's right on the water, but there are just rocks between the house and the ocean), and this morning did the dumb thing where it feels like we're just sitting around and it's really too hot to be in the sun, so I don't put on sunscreen, so now I'm a little crispy. Which I actually like, even though I know it's bad!
Happy 4th.
Timelies all!
It's been raining here, heavily at times. Between the weather and the fact that Mr. S has been behaving badly most of the day, I have a feeling no one in this house is going to see fireworks.
We went to Matthew's aunt and uncle's right afternoon. They were having a big pool party all day leading up to fireworks. We didn't stay. I sat outside most of the time and it was hot. I didn't do anything but I feel totally drained. I checked the weather at 5 and it was a heat index of 99.
I am peopled out for today so we aren't going anywhere tonight. I told him to feel free to go without me but he said he would stay home.
Glad we had such a nice display last night because I don't think I'll make it tonight. Here's hoping lightning strikes in DC, oh say around the Lincoln Memorial.
My friend who moved last year to Vegas said her apartment building was swaying and she was none too happy. Said it made her nauseous. It was a first for her after living in Brooklyn and S Florida.
From news feed...makes you wonder about divine intervention.

in-laws have the Trump thing on the tv help
leave the room, only safe thing to do. sounds like a good time for a soak in the bath.
I was walking into the room, literally turned around and walked out. MIL was having a speakerphone conversation with her bestie, a vocal Trump fan.
Then husband and in-laws bickered about what to watch on TV. I'm kind of hoping fireworks get rained out.
