Sheryl, there are a bunch of people who have been posting on my local (TKPK) listserv for summer work for their nanny while the families are away or home, so you might be able to do something local with a nanny or a share fairly painlessly. I think our ex-nanny is booked, but I can call her if you like to see if there is space in her share (Mr S would have to come towards us for that).

Good luck, Laura! I had my doc check my immunity to measles, mumps and rubella this year, just in case. Working on a U campus exposes me to all sorts of interesting things, and I have not forgotten that my sister caught TB from U students.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yikes! I should check on my vaccinations, I don't remember getting any boosters for long time, not even tetanus.

Our wings are not tired.

Yeah, I'm a baby about shots but would be a bigger baby about shingles. TB, yikes!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Yeah, I'm a baby about shots but would be a bigger baby about shingles.

Not one, but TWO friends of ours got shingles in their eye, and it messed them up for quite a while. One of the guys had to take a long leave of absence from his job because his eye couldn't tolerate any light. Even when he was indoors with the curtains drawn, he had to wear sunglasses.

Oh, yeah, shingles is horrible and painful and to be avoided in general but I hear eye involvement is a whole other level of bad. I'm so glad there's preventive care available!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I recently talked to a lady who had had shingles 8 times -- evidently it took until the reliable vaccine came around that it stopped happening every single time she was stressed.

I had shingles in my eye and it was impressive how fast my GP turned me over to the ophthalmologist and washed her hands of me. I was still seeing him six months later.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

If I knew that every time I got stressed I would get shingles, I'd be pretty stressed about that.
