Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

With this administration just clarify that it was immigrant babies people were talking about eating and everything's golden.

Happy belated birthdays everyone!

What is even happening?

My birthday was last Sunday but thanks for the birthday wishes they are always appreciated.

This is what I get for either missing the time-stamp on your Bitches quote or misreading the verb. I saw a post about your birthday being Sunday, and thought it meant yesterday. Sorry about that, askye.

This is actually number 8! But only the second girl baby. #1 was a girl, and then a bunch of boys, and now, 9 years later, another girl!

Oh, so you were really young, too. Three of ours live down south, and we never see them. We have four girls and four boys, so far.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Yeah, I married the youngest brother; all the great-niecephews are from Oldest Brother's 4 kids. Oldest brother is only 57 (or maybe 58; I can never remember); he had his kids pretty young, and some of his kids had their kids young. So now Oldest Brother has 8 grandkids, and he couldn't be happier, which is awesome.

I am enjoying my first real day of leave by going to a bar at 9am to watch the US play soccer...but they aren't doing so well, yikes!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just gave someone a mediocre review and they took it fine, so that's a relief!

Librarian Warlord

I just signed a card for our interim dean (who is finishing her stint, and our permanent new Dean is taking over) with, "I hope you've enjoyed this year as much as I have!"

I'll give you one guess as to just how much I've enjoyed her tenure as Dean...

Ha! Nice, Sparky1.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Got a call from the daycare today. Mr. S was hitting, spitting and throwing things again, and the suggested methods weren't working. So he can't go back there. I'm rather upset, and don't know what we'll do. (Well, we'll probably have to hire someone from the nanny agency for the rest of the summer, which will add up quickly. sigh)

Very diplomatic and crafty, Sparky!!

I am going through all my photos from France....I took too many photos (I mean, it was 2 weeks, but still, 2000 photos is too many! Many were duplicates to get better angles/light/etc, but still!)

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry, Sheryl. My son Brendon was kicked out of a couple pre-Ks. Actually it was a bit of a joke among friends when he was kicked out of St. Joseph's. My company had done the entire computer lab for the school because we had friends with a child there. So we enrolled him after he was kicked out of the first pre-K. They still kicked him out. After it happened SEVERAL of our friends told us how either they were kicked out of St. Joe's, or knew someone who was. It was like a badge of honor or something. Trust me, it didn't seem funny at the time.

I really hope you find a good solution, and quickly!
