You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

Avoiding shingles is good!!

I have landed from France, in Vancouver. Now to get to my next flight. And stay awake.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You have more reason than many for that right now, Dana. If that's any comfort.

Oh, man, Sheryl. Good luck with that.

Got my boobs squished this morning, whee. Why can't they use something like the magical X-ray that zooms around around your head at the dentist to scan? I would take that over jet packs, I think.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

You have more reason than many for that right now, Dana. If that's any comfort.

I thought at first you were telling me I had a lot more reasons to be functional, which I am willing to admit is true. But I think the way you intended it is more comforting.

Husband is coming out of his virus-induced exhaustion. I am going back and forth with the airline, who insist on having our bank account info before they decide if they owe us money.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Upside, you won't have to hear me cry about getting shingles!

You actually can develop shingles after getting vaccinated (my mom did), but it supposedly makes outbreaks less severe if it can't prevent them entirely.

When I got ready to leave for work this morning I discovered someone had gotten in my car and rifled through its contents last night. Apparently they only took the 20¢ or so in pennies scattered through the interior, and left my spare glasses, my car emergency kit, and the window cracker tool on my front seats. I guess leaving it unlocked to avoid setting off the alarm in the mornings worked to my advantage and saved me from having to replace another window.

Our wings are not tired.

That is just all kinds of wrong. eta: whoever said before have them mail a check was right on.

Matt, I did the same. It is icky feeling when someone goes through the car, but less icky than a broken window. Now I am keeping it in the garage so that is even better!

Why he's behaving so badly I don't know.

I'm sorry, Sheryl. It does get easier when they are more verbal because you can talk things out.

Oh, god, no! More reasons to hate everything. I have no idea how anyone is managing to function. Ugh on the airline

Good question. How are we functioning? I used to watch news while I was waiting for various processes to run while working. Now I use sudoku, solitaire, mahjong, and that type of thing to fill the short wait times. I'm reading a lot more and watching more fictional tv too.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

If I didn't have plans with a friend, I would leave work right now and go home, but she hasn't actually confirmed that we're on and I feel like she might cancel. I wish she would! But of course spending time with friends is a good idea, too....

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

TCG bought me tickets to see Rachel Bloom from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend doing stand up! It's a birthday gift, even though the show isn't until October.
