Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

I saw a construction worker yesterday with the most awesome hair and long beard, but I'm worried that he works around power equipment.

Our wings are not tired

This job site is crush resistant toe, puncture resistant and electrical resistant sole, hard hard, long pants, safety glasses, and gloves.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Petticoats or trains would be fine as long as the job doesn't involve welding or moving belts, right?

If ND lets me use a welding torch, I will obey any required safety dress code. POWER TOOLS OF FIRE.

Typically not welding torches, but occasionally angle grinders, which make amazing showers of sparks.

Not only is the person who took on a shitton of my extra work plus some new projects leaving, we may not be able to replace her anytime soon because of changes in hiring practices (positions are now domain of division not branches & current division leadership...um we keep our distance for Reasons.)

And she was really, really good. There are at least 2 other coworkers I'd ditch to keep her.

I'm tired.

Ugh, no fun, sarameg. I hope a solution comes to light.

I am off and running. Basketball tournament. Tired.

I am awaiting a train to Paris, and have no idea what we will do the next couple days, but hope it will be fun and tasty! Went to another game last night (Jamaica Italy) and have US-Chile tomorrow

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I used to do tech theatre in tights and a form fitting knit mini skirt. Not sure anyone wants that now that I am over 40. But the long pants would be a dealbreaker for me unless they could be black jogging or something. My body does not do pants

Also, doesn't everyone know that monkeys ride backwards on pigs? [link]

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had a nice day so far. Got a pedicure, using the gift certificate I got for Mother's Day, and now my toenails are sparkly. Then went to the Montgomery Mall and bought a new iPad mini(my current one is first generation, still runs, but a lot of apps won't work with an OS that old), a Father's Day gift for Gary and a couple shirts for me.

Now I get to play with my new toy...

Yay new toy!

I had a decent driving morning, then collapsed for a nap when I got home. Yesterday I went by my favorite Ethiopian restaurant for lunch, so I had the decent-sized leftovers for lunch today.

I need to get more stuff organized in my house. We had a special inspection by the private contractor who is working for the Green Line extension that is being constructed near my house -- it will document whether if there is damage should an embankment fall over or et cetera. Really, not much chance, but I'd rather be in teh clear legally if there was a problem that I needed to sue.

But having Very Polite and Professional Strangers in the house and having them take pictures (which will never see the light of day unless there's a legality) really brings to you how much needs to be done to get rid of boxes of Stuff that we're not using.
