Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had a nice day so far. Got a pedicure, using the gift certificate I got for Mother's Day, and now my toenails are sparkly. Then went to the Montgomery Mall and bought a new iPad mini(my current one is first generation, still runs, but a lot of apps won't work with an OS that old), a Father's Day gift for Gary and a couple shirts for me.

Now I get to play with my new toy...

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yay new toy!

I had a decent driving morning, then collapsed for a nap when I got home. Yesterday I went by my favorite Ethiopian restaurant for lunch, so I had the decent-sized leftovers for lunch today.

I need to get more stuff organized in my house. We had a special inspection by the private contractor who is working for the Green Line extension that is being constructed near my house -- it will document whether if there is damage should an embankment fall over or et cetera. Really, not much chance, but I'd rather be in teh clear legally if there was a problem that I needed to sue.

But having Very Polite and Professional Strangers in the house and having them take pictures (which will never see the light of day unless there's a legality) really brings to you how much needs to be done to get rid of boxes of Stuff that we're not using.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just made whoopie pies for a family party tomorrow, and they are enormous! Oops. I guess they are whoopie pie size, but still.

My weekend is all celebrating -- high school graduation party last night, baby shower today, family bdays tomorrow....

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I met up with an old friend to watch Late Night this afternoon. Then we wandered around a park catching Pokémon for a while. It was a nice Saturday.

Sorry about the work issues, Atropa and son of Laura. I hope both find something engaging soon.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hey! Guess who randomly has no water?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey! Guess who randomly has no water?

Is it Scrappy? Is it you? I'm guessing you.

Why must the world bedevil you, Dana?! Why?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Dana only gets one utility at a time.

I just randomly learned that there is a theatre called Toy Boat Theatre. "Theatre is our most vibrant way of sharing our stories and ourselves. "

Given the choice in the Texas summer, I'd definitely take electricity to power the A/C.

The water was out because the house has a sensor in the walls to detect leaks and automatically turn off the water supply if it's tripped. As far as we can tell, there is not actually a leak in the house, since it hasn't tripped again. So we have water! And hopefully not an attic filling with water or something.

Yay? That seems like a cool idea but....yeah. Dana are you sure Texas hasn't cursed you?

I just watched the US v Chile game which was cool. It's more fun cheering for an underdog and when teams are evenly matched, though. I find it weird to chant USA when we are kicking butt.

Quiet Sunday here, especially with Gary and Mr. S away.
