We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Beverly, the blood sugar struggles are real. Fistbumps and other gestures of solidarity.

Depression and asthma (and cancer risk) on my mother's side, and anxiety, diabetes and heart disease on my father's. Ah well, at least I didn't pick up the alcoholism.

But I'll admit that I'm relieved to not be passing any of this stuff on to the next generation.

Our wings are not tired.

Good morning Natter. I'm in a very good mood today. I just noticed and it is pretty sweet.

All good stuff! After a couple weeks of basketball every day all day and night DH told me a couple days ago he was going to be home tonight. So I got tickets to see Rocketman tonight. Looking forward to that a lot. Also, after my nutrition appt yesterday, when I got home DH said he wanted to join me in the diet business after he has fallen off the wagon spectacularly in recent months. So I ordered about everything imaginable from whole foods for delivery this morning and have been menu planning in full force.

Mostly trying to be very firm on the RA diet suggestions, as well as complying with my torturer's edict to ban gluten and dairy from my life. Well, she actually was less harsh than usual saying if I required a bit of pizza a couple times a month or something it wouldn't kill me, but to be good most of the time. She probably knows if I eliminate it most of the time then it will make me sick when I have it, tricky witch.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I ended up sleeping sitting up in the recliner so that my heartburn wasn't as bad. I was supposed to meet up with vw and Stitch today, but I wasn't feeling up to the drive. So, there coming to us. I wish the house was cleaner, but I don't have the energy to fix that before they get here.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, sj, I wish you could get a vacation from everything and just lounge around getting better. I can guarantee vw doesn't care about how clean your house is.

I got my final annual review yesterday, and it was good! I'm a stupid self-fulfilling prophecy, because when I feel like I'm screwing up, I do worse, but right now I feel really good and think I can keep it up!!

Also on the weather front, it has been gorgeous and perfect here, and today my mother gets home from a cool and rainy trip to the UK, so of course it's cool and rainy here!

No question about that! Sleeping sitting up is probably better for the lungs too. I'm so sorry. It is so much harder to focus on getting well yourself when you have a toddler. She will be super excited to have Stitch to entertain her! The two of them together just melts my heart.

but right now I feel really good and think I can keep it up!!

Wooooot!

My desk is an actual mess, so I am going through things, filing what I can to get things off it ASAP.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Steph, it looks like a big paper you edited on medical marijuana has been repudiated.

Back in 2014, researchers compared deaths due to opioid abuse in states with and without legalization of medical marijuana. For the decade prior to 2010, the trend was clear: states that allowed medical marijuana had lower rates of opioid-abuse-driven death.

That set the stage for the new study, which uses the data from the earlier work but expands its scope to include the years up to and including 2017. Instead of a 20% drop, the study finds a 20% increase in opioid abuse deaths in states that have legalized medical marijuana.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Steph, it looks like a big paper you edited on medical marijuana has been repudiated.

That's fascinating! I'll have to read the new study later. I just wonder if some of the increase in opioid overdose deaths is due to the spike in heroin and fentanyl (versus deaths from legally prescribed opioid painkillers).

Our wings are not tired.

Well dang, we aren't going to have Sarah Sanders to kick around anymore. Who wants the job of press secretary?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Don't mind Bubble Guppies or Paw Patrol that much. Mr. S watches too much media, I know.
