The only cold remedy suggestion I have is nasal spray for the plane. It's not a cure but it will make you more comfortable.

I'm a new convert to Zicam/generic equivalent, it kept me from developing bad nasal congestion for this last cold and seemed to mute the sore throat and cough symptoms. One of my doctors highly recommends it—he said it works by the zinc bonding to the exterior of cold viruses and interfering with their reproduction.
I ended up spending $25 on some wireless headphones at the airport. Will probably try to buy some cheap ones while I'm in DC—I dislike having to charge my headphones, it annoys me.
I love nasal spray so much but feel so betrayed when it wears off
Zicam and vitamin C for colds. Italy will make everything better, Dana!
Glad you're all right, sj. That's scary.
Yay grad school with bonus Nilly, Shir!
Hugs and yays and bon voyages to all as appropriate. You are busy people.
Aside from my ankle/chronic pain issues, I am rarely sick. Like, I almost never get a cold or a stomach "bug". So when I suddenly ran to the toilet and barfed yesterday, I was rather surprised. I still feel like lupus on a cracker today, so I guess I have a bad reaction to milk now, maybe? Geez.
Speaking of disorders, I googled "I can hear my eyeballs moving" and discovered there's a syndrome for that! Superior canal dehiscence syndrome (SCDS), whatever the fuck. Add another WTF to my growing list. I think it happens when I'm dehydrated.
Otherwise it's a good day!
Thank you, all!
That sounds creepy Zen!
I just got a text that my flight next week (bought on miles, six months ago) has been downgraded from business to premium economy. That's not the same thing at all. What the fuck.
"I can hear my eyeballs moving"
That's a thing?

Well, there's the new thing I learned today. Dang.
It's a thing, all right. Swish swish zap is the sound your eyeballs make, btw.
I try to avoid Dr. Google. He told me that a thing that I've had happen for nearly twenty years could be a sign of imminent stroke. And it was only a couple of years ago that I looked it up. I figure if I haven't stroked out yet I can continue to play the odds.
Well, I've been having my ups and downs - I was rather severely rebuked by someone for not following up quickly enough when I didn't receive approval for something Tuesday afternoon ... although it wasn't scheduled to go out until Wednesday morning. She, of course, copied my boss on the message so I had to talk him through the whole situation and explain my reasoning. Now I've had to ask the pharmacist to put my prescriptions in bottles that don't have the child-proof caps, since I'm developing arthritis in my hands and it's getting harder and harder to open them.
However, I read about this guy ... so I guess I could be worse off.
