'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ok, here's yet another example of Life With Rosemary.

I had some mail piled up on the coffee table, which yeah is definitely on me. So, in the name of straightening up, which again is OK, she puts all of my mail in a paper grocery bag, the same as the ones that recycling paper gets put in.

And I say to her, please don't do that, it will get mixed up with the recycling and you will put all my mail in the recycling bin.

Today I go to get the bag, since I've made space on my desk upstairs to sort through it all and toss the junk mail and file the rest... and what do I find?

SHE'S been tearing up her discardable mail and tossing it into the bag of MY MAIL -- the one that I WARNED HER would be mistaken for recycling. Where it was on the floor that she'd put there.

I am simultaneously irate and vindicated.

Sounds like life with my dad. You have my sympathy.

My mom informed me last night she wants to foot the bill for me to put in central air, even though I can afford it myself because "you'll inherit the money eventually, but sit on it just like you are now, because you think big purchases to death because you're cheap like us. Just stop putting it off so I can see you enjoying our money while I'm alive." So I have THAT to chew on. Not a guilt trip, she just knows me too well.

I swam 3 whole days in a row! Outside, at Druid. Am sore because I do not moderate, so of course did my usual length despite the hiatus, and then a little more. And a little more. Weather looks dicey tomorrow, but I'm hopeful I can resume my routine at the Y. Seem to have picked up a bit too much sun today.

Heavy day at the pool. A swim friend remarked on not seeing me at the Y, I explained. Complaining about body betrayal led to another regular admitting tearfully it was her last Druid swim today cause she's moving home to take care of her mom with cancer after her dad died this winter & another let us know that a regular last season's cancer went terminal & she moved to a place allowing assisted suicide & looks like tomorrow is the day. Sometime crying in public is bearable when you can all jump into the pool. I don't know any of them well, but it's a little community nonetheless.

Tomorrow, I get to enjoy 6 ish hours with no power & high near 90, taking Pumpkin to the vet for a follow up & getting my boobs squashed. Should be fun.

Oh & I put down a section of stripper on the front porch floor, so I need to take that up in the evening...

I'm pretty sure I will. Mom fucking wrote it down so she'll remember. She never remembers to write anything down (which also probably means she didn't need to write it down, so. Memory crap is so arbitrary.)

The thing with RA making my hands weak right now is also a player. I can put in my bedroom ac. I say that with certainty. The other one? I'm going to need help this year. I HATE that. And while I can hope it gets better once I get treatment, it fucking scares me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Do it!

Theodosia, may I recommend a mail basket? It gives it a home, at least.

It's not like she doesn't have a dozen mail-sized Amazon boxes sitting near her chair, either. Harumph.

Just discovered that the reason my toast wasn't toasting in a reasonable amount of time was that the toaster oven temperature had been set down to 150F. I asked her if there was a reason for it, and she disclaimed all knowledge of how it could have happened. rolls eyes

Our wings are not tired.

Back to work. Ugh. Wish me few calls.

Ha, Theodosia. It sounds like she has successfully transitioned from someone causing worry to someone causing irritation again.

Wonderful to hear you are back in the swim again, sarameg. I hope today goes easier than expected. Central air will be really cool, in more ways than one.

Well, still have power, but also thunderstorms just moved through, so work is probably rescheduled. As is Pumpkin's vet appointment., which screws up my plans for the day.
